I love it so much how your videos still have a bit of silence in between moments. Where you drain the potatoes and walk back, it's not all supercut and mrbeastified. I value that incredibly much, even made me subscribe since I've watched you so long already. No music every possible moment. Thanks for that. I'm already overstimulated most of the day lol, this helps.

Adding breadcrumbs and cheese makes it a Cumberland pie. It's actually far superior without; it only needs the breadcrumbs if you mess up the crispy potato topping. And it only needs cheese if it's otherwise bland. Basically having stabiliser wheels on a toddler's bike.

Great recipe Andy, as always.

For what my opinion is worth [very little, I know], you seem a tad nervous of late. You’re a great chef, great YouTuber and a great ambassador for your craft.

Look after yourself mate. You owe us nothing, so don’t get stressed.

De La Soul Is Dead. One of the best hiphop albums of all time. And one of my favourites. Oh, both cottage and shepherd's pies are two of my favourite comfort dishes of all time! ❤

My Nan made one once with pork mince because it was all she had in and jokingly called it ”Sty Pie” and for some reason it makes me laugh to this day. 😂

I really like this channel! It's so easy to watch and learn from!

Making meals for mates doing it tough truly is the greatest way to show you care! I have been both on the giving and receiving end of this many times. The most recent occasion I had two friends deliver meals within a few hours after sharing some difficult news & I was in tears! Sure it might seem soppy, but it’s an amazingly simple, tangible way to show support for people in your community.

I will never forget getting home from school 40 years ago knowing my mum was off work and the smell of this cooking in the oven followed with an also homemade Apple Crumble. No amount of money can bring those days back. My son loves both dishes too. That sort of makes it right.
Excellent work Chef. 💪

I’m 57 and my mum is 87. I haven’t seen her for over 3 years and will be driving to QLD this Friday to spend time with her and I will be cooking for her for the 1st ever using some of your videos as a guide. I feel that feeding someone is the biggest gift you can give.

I usually follow Adam Ragusea's recipe, building the pie in the cast iron and making an egg yolk and cheese mash which puffs up wonderfully on the top. Cottage pie is great.

Made this today and it was fantastic. Followed the recipe to a T and loved the crunchy cheesy top.

Another classic album on the shelf. Nice work guys :)

I know its warming up in the southern hemisphere but appreciate the comfort recipes as its getting cold up here in the norther hemisphere. Looks awesome!

This is my first time watching one of your videos, and it hit all the right notes. One of my favorite comfort food dishes presented in an easy to follow and replicate manner. I particularly appreciated your point about preparing food for those you love, and I agree.

Subscribed, liked and I'm looking forward to your future videos. Greetings from gettysburg, pennsylvania, USA and have a great day.

Salt and vinegar chips on top actually sounds so good! Love this channel!

as the Goodies sang "give peas a chance"

I have been eating Cottage Pir for a VERY long time (I am 68) and I have been making it EXACTLY like this (to include the peas) I also put sweet kernel corn in it(canned)! Tastes GREAT!

I had a step mom that would make Sheppard's pie. with lamb mince and beef. topped with filo dough and cheese. i need to make that recipe again. instant memories. thanks for the video.

I add frozen corn to the meat for little pops of sweetness, and garlic to the mashed potatoes. Placing the casserole dish on a sheet pan will catch the overflow and help keep your oven clean.

UK chef, Tom Kerridge has an even "harder core" way of browning mince. He lays it out on a sheet pan, well broken up & oven cooks it 'till really browned. It does give a great texture for certain dishes - but not for all occassions.
