I quit playing WoW in May 2009. It's still one of the best times I had playing video games, but once it dawned on me that I was grinding to get loot to grind for more loot, the illusion of it all fell apart. I have nothing but fond memories of the game, but I moved on. I did actually try to play it again a few years later, but the hook just wasn't there anymore.

It feels like WC3 was in the upper half of the ESRB teen rating, but modern WoW is in the younger half of the teen rating. But that's probably wrong - the writers still try to give an edge to the stories, they are just either not good at it, or restricted. Maybe both.

I have always loved the Warcraft Lore, but it feels like the magic has been lost. I feel like this video sums it up nicely.

Because the devs will call you racist and tell you to get lost if you do.

I thought it was just cool level and get more advanced, which you could then do more things in the game. I haven't played since around 2006, I had a level ~36 Tauren Shamen, and a 20 something Human Mage, and 20 something Human Priest. It was a lot of fun and hind of magical. A lot of my friends played it too, but we were on different servers. Eventually it did just feel like a grind and all the same, and then I stopped playing.

My brother played constantly though. He would wake up and start playing, then come down stars only after getting super hungry and eat breakfast around noon. Then he would play most of the rest of the day, usually do something else in the middle of day and then come back to play later on. Then he would raid until the late into the night and then repeat. He did that for a full summer basically.
