Why Were The Gearing Changes So Bad?

I like that they tried something new. I like that they are making drops relevant again. But a lot of new problems have arisen.
Not everything that I state is necessarily objectively wrong, but there are issues that I wanted to bring to light
Sorry for making negative videos, my next video will not be negative

also it's another long video. guess there was a lot to talk about

'So Bad' in my title is an exaggeration based on the vibes of the community

The point you mentioned about alts needing bonus rolls but then not being able to use them because of low ilvl is the reason I can’t be arsed to gear any alts 😂😅

A totally opposite end of the spectrum example of the psychological effect of loot is LFR being group loot instead of personal. The only difference is you are seeing the rolls, but it FEELS so much worse to see your 99 lose to a last second 100 roll rather than you didn't loot the item, and someone else did.

last sentence is by far the best part of the video, "kill a boss, get an item and equip it", that should be it tbh but the actual situation is beyond scuffed

It's crazy how they seem so reluctant to make substantial loot changes between patches but then throw in 10 very small changes in the same patch without thinking how any of the 10 changes would impact each other at all.

Guillotine also gets nearly double the value on 2 target.
For my class on 2 target, Myth Guillotine simmed 9% better than non-guillotine heroic trinkets, and 6% better than other myth trinkets.

When they design items to be this much better than every alternative, it can feel terrible to not have them.

This is the most thoroughly thought out analysis of the loot system i've seen. I truly hope that Blizzard sees this and digests it. I also hope that as a non CE raider, we can keep heroic raid worth doing.

We need bonus roll AND reroll

@mico6155 10 hours ago

Amen on that last sentence!

@elindalyne4148 6 hours ago

it's great wanting the infinity stones off of Coiled and Ulatek to be equivalent to other players and not even being done with heroic rolls yet...

3% is also the best case scenario for raiders vs m+ (and heroic raiders). With rogue and warrior (and maybe udk post nerf) being in or near the meta they are effected far more by having full BiS from the last couple bosses. It also isn't even just damage, the extra stamina will also have you questioning if you die by minimal overkill. If your whole group is set to perform a third to half a keylevel better, they just will have more success.

God-tier video and explanation

I like casually doing heroic raiding with my guild, getting aotc every season, don't really have that much interest in mythic raiding, nor m+.
But I've felt kinda forced into doing m+ for gear, which made heroic raid gear feel kinda meaningless in a lot of seasons cause most of it would be replaced by m+ vault gear.
Seems like most changes to loot and vault ends up breaking gearing for one aspect of the game which is a shame

@nofoxgiven6561 10 hours ago

Think the biggest win would be if I take an item from vault I cannot bonus roll it later. Saving the bonus rolls would definitely help incentivise taking items you want from content.

@BlackJackHD13 4 hours ago

Then there is my who accidentally used bonus rolls on normal altar and heroic Nimryssa

@jmbrady1 9 hours ago

I remember when gearing was just dungeons, raids, and open world

@Skarghan 8 hours ago

Tokens and vendors is needed. The game is really depressing when you win nothing in raid for weeks and weeks... I'm 1 month dry right now and there is nothing I can do about it...

@SimonSays- 7 hours ago

Even if you want item from m+ like Freighrunners Flask. It is so hard to roll for, since all dungeons have 6+ items for every spec. In raid, so many bosses only have 3 items.
Either make that you can reroll if you are not happy with result in m+ (still only 1 item per week), or increase loot pool in raid by factor of 2.
