I bought my first house 10 months ago. I live in an affluent area with some good XC mountain biking and if you’re not riding a full sus people think you’re a total novice. I ride about 4,000 miles a year In commuting and road riding. I work for a supermarket and my wife is a teacher so we are not rich. This video inspires me to go get a used entry level hardtail and start getting off-road!

$900 of labor. That was a very tongue-in-cheek comment that I think we all need to keep in mind when it comes to things like this. A cheap bike isn't always a bargain.

I fell back in love when put 650b x 2.2 wheels on my old kona cindercone.
I now have a drop bar setup and she runs 29x40c gravel tyres on old dt swiss rims I took off about 10 years ago.
Today I probably ride this bike more than all my others combined.
I probably spent less than 150 dollars on the bike to get it to where it is now.

One of the best bike flips you've ever done Seth. The bandaids were a sweet little touch. The best part was when she said she "feels much safer". That's all you need to hear.

Tip for rusted parts, after you've sanded/wire brushed them as much as you can, coat them with phosphoric acid. This converts any remaining rust to iron phosphate and prevents further rust. Brush or spray it on, let it sit, do it again, and before it dries completely wipe it off.

Although he should do more vids when trying Walmart bikes those are always entertaining.
