‘Julius Caesar was stabbed repeatedly but there’s no evidence his face melted’ 😂

Watching Dan have an utter meltdown over AI’s interpretation of the battle of Trafalgar was worth the click alone.

Hey there, Dan! My name's Joseph Wilson and I'm an anthropologist that specializes in Native American studies. You mentioned there are no indigenous people left in the Caribbean- but actually there are! On the island of Dominica, there's a whole Kalinago (the name the "Caribs" call themselves as "Carib" is kind of a derogatory term) community with a chief and everything who preserve their heritage through living history centers where folks can visit and see what Kalinago culture was like pre-European arrival.

Outside of that, nearly everyone living in the Greater Antilles today still have Taino heritage (shown through extensive genetic sampling of folks in Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic), and Puerto Ricans today still are very proud of their Taino heritage- maintaining the stories handed down through the generations since pre-contact.

"have you learned nothing while illegally scraping my content from the internet??" AI, not only immoral but also just straight up dumb

That image of Columbus screams "Great old wise man teaches the little Indians how to count to 10."
What. The. F.

4:19 ‘Don’t listen to AI. Listen to the archeologists.’ Is the main takeaway from this video

Caesar's assassination is so well documented we even know the weather for the 15th of March 44 BC

Ah, yes. Anne Boleyn's famous execution by beetroot. If only she had taken advantage of the fact that she wasn't manacled or restrained at all and simply ran away, but I guess that spear-bearing army was just too intimidating. Like many great mysteries of history, we'll never quite know.

I was impressed by Dan Snow being able to guess a number of the images as they were so awful. I also felt his pain.

10:07 he’s so legit upset by the Battle of    Trafalgar, you can really tell he cares about history and getting it as right as possible.

Every single one of these 'Historian vs AI' videos has been incredibly entertaining. The horror and despair of the historians, combined with the malicious glee clearly felt by those who commissioned the 'art', is comedy gold.

“I don’t know why there are so many beetroot…..?”

Not a phrase I would expect to hear on History Hit - do we need Ruth Goodman for a consult?

😂❤

I think Dan was being very generous with his scoring. Very funny though and a good way to drive home how bad AI is.

The Battle of Trafalgar showing a British ship with a US flag is the worst kind of travesty.

You'd have thought that Montezuma's sixth finger would have been mentioned by historians before now :)

While I love the entire video, I cannot leave without mentioning just how hilarious I find the moment when Dan subtly leans closer to the AI image of Washington crossing the Delaware as he realizes that the men in the boat are carrying spears.

I'm loving the outrage and fury toward the AI images. I feel the same way, and it's so nice to see Dan Snow rip into these, metaphorically though it may be.

Columbus’ sleeves are coming out of his shoulders like they’re sewn on 😂

The supposed "crossing of the Delaware" looks like the AI used a bit too many photos from the D-Day landings as reference. 🤣🤣
