Negative behaviors persist because they are successful. People accept them. The only way to bring change to society is for people to discover who they are and consciously become aware of their thoughts and actions. Accountability. This interview brings awareness
The last 20 minutes of this is special. Thank you both. 'Let now the savage instincts sleep, and all the damage that they do. When Human Love stirs in the deep: the Love of God is stirring too.' -Goethe
Sorry I have to say that I was adamant from the start of my research on narcissism that my husband did not have this deep down shame in his personality and nor did his mother so it’s so reassuring to hear renowned scientists also confirm that this isn’t always the case. This really helps the victim/survivor to see things more clearly without allowing the empathy to try and make you feel otherwise. Thank you for this great video.
Dr Simon is great ! I love when he laughed when you jokingly referred to him as "infamous" He's super cool ,very polite and a total class act ,just like you
People who do do not accept the negative behavior and assert boundaries are equally shunned- mislabel- isolated and abused against… the projection to those of high character creates MORE dissonance.
Jared, it is a skill to have these experts speak so well and share their experience and knowledg on this very important topic. Your sincerity and curious, questioning and thoughtful mind makes this possible in all your interviews.
There may be different degrees and manifestations of narcissism. However, regardless of type, all narcissists have an overinflated ego and they lack empathy. If someone has a lot of empathy, they’re not going to be a narcissist.
I was married to a narc, it’s obvious he influenced our kids to behave badly as well. Also, my adult kids are rude and entitled. My family who I took good care of treat me like crap.
Jared, thankfor bringing such relevant, social personal info to share with us. Your choice of guests is impressive and offers many different perspectives on life. ❤❤❤❤
In 1992 I had brain surgery which created a chemical imbalance in my brain. I suffered a serious depression from it. Within 2 mos. I had 3 suicide attempts. The doctors placed me in the psych ward for a month to help me overcome my depression. In the 3rd week, they tried me on Lithium and my depression lifted. I was diagnosed with bipolar illness. I was released 1 week later on condition that I start seeing a psychiatrist on a weekly basis. That went so well that I began to like myself again. A few years later I was switched to Valproic Acid because I hardly had any emotions due to the Lithium. WOW! They became my 'happy pills.' I still take them to this day. I'm as happy as a lark these days. No depression ever again. I love my life. I love the world I live in and I share my joy with whoever I meet. I am forever passing out compliments. Isn't life wonderful. I have so much to be thankful for. I give prayers 🙏of thanks to the Lord every morning. I trust the medical profession so much after all this.
I was married to an abusive malignant narcissist (who put me in the ED w/ a facial lacertion and 2 chpped teeth) & I went to work w/ black eyes & bruises all over my body. I was put on an antidepressant by a psyvhiatrist - actually several different ones. God have mercy! Who would not be depressed? Maybe, I should have been told if I got away from the narc, the depression would lift.
We are so much more. When you leave your body, your stunned when you realize that you have left the body. We are Consciouseness. We are just stuck in the body for right now because the Flesh is Not the Spirit
