"entirely made by humans and cats"
Is the cat who made this video available for hire?

Man skipped over 2000 years of history in 4 minutes

being able to say you're AI-free should be a new thing in advertisements

Mapping the whole Confucius family tree would be epic here.

"The reason why China suffers bitterly from endless wars is because of the existence of feudal lords and kings"

- Qin Shi Huang

22:12 the Qing Dynasty did not have a system of primogeniture or any « line of succession » in the European tradition. Instead, each emperor nominated his successor from amongst his sons, or, if he did not have any sons, from amongst the wider imperial dynasty. Puyi, while in captivity in Siberia, did nominate a successor, and that was Yuyan (毓嵒), who was the great grandson of Yicong (奕誴), the Prince Dun and 5th son of the Daoguang Emperor. Therefore, if we are to adhere to tradition, it was Yuyan who became « head of the imperial house » after Puyi died. Yuyan had several sons so the line continues from amongst his descendants.

4:54 Nice to see Liu Bei and Cao Cao make a cameo in this one. Funny how the period that had enough legacy to justify making a 120 Chapter Story based on its events, is but a small footnote in the history of China overall.

🎶 China is whole again 🎶
🎶 Then it broke again 🎶

The late Zhu Rongji, former Premier of China, was the 18th-generation descendant of Zhu Yuanzhang, the founding emperor of the Ming Dynasty.

I think it is important to note that, despite the different dynasties, most of China's dynasties up to the Song dynasty involved queens and concubines from the same 10 noble clans of ancient China as they were required political marriages to legitimise these dynastic houses. Therefore, they were all connected to some degree through matrilineal descent. Only one noble clan ever produced emperors from the patrilineal line and it was Hongnong Yang clan who was the royal house of the Sui Dynasty. Later Tang Dynasty emperors all trace their lineage matrilineally from that clan after Wu Zetian as her mother was from that clan. Would be fun if you guys ever did a chart from that angle.

Justice for the Khitan Liao Dynasty (907-1125) for not being mentioned or even being acknowledged that it had existed as a Chinese Dynasty up in the north.

That skip over the Three Kingdoms Period had better be because you have a future video planned...

Glad you guys make the no AI declaration

Puyi visited the Forbidden City after he was released and had to pay the tourist entrance fee.

18:40 - mistake. Outer Manchuria was ceded to Russia by the Treaty of Aigun in 1858 and by the Treaty of Peking in 1860 which is after Qianlong's reign. Some territories in Central Asia is also missing. The map would be correct as Qing China after 1860

16:58 insane levels of aura farming

Appreciate an AI-free channel!

Yuan Shikai, who was the 2nd president of China after Sun Ya Tsen briefly declared himself emperor in 1915. So he should be on the list. Puyi still gets to be called the last emperor because in 1917 a warlord briefly restored him to the throne (for lik 2 week)

I actually understand why Useful Charts focused more on the medieval to modern period when it comes to this topic. The feudal states during the long Zhou dynasty would be extremely complicated to map out, and some of those dukes or lords of the individual kingdoms also trace back their genealogy to mythical /legendary times. Same could be said for that roughly 400 period between the end of the Han dynasty to the Sui /Tang dynasties…this era was full of short lived dynasties and kingdoms, but more complicated as several of those short lived dynasties and kingdoms were of foreign origin and trace their genealogy to different histories, mythos/legends  outside of Chinese recorded history, mythos/legends.
