You're welcome, and good luck.

I'm retired military and your channel is spot on.

Hand sanitizer, and or wipes.  Prevents illnesses after toileting and before eating incase conditions are less then optimal plus kids touch everything.  Retired RN.

I'd add a physical map, a notebook and a pen. You might not be able to speak but you might still be able to write. Also, noise cancelors, masks like the ones from covid panthemic, a hat or a cap, and a pair of clean underwear. These things don't take much space, but can make a lot of difference.

This was a good reminder for me to update my “72-Hour Kit.” I used to teach this principle of emergency preparedness at a local college. I taught Health Education and this was part of my curriculum.  I required my students to bring their Emergency Preparedness kit to class on the last day of the semester and we would look inside for the items on your list.  I hope those students have kept their kits and have updated them.  Thank you for this video!

Add a change of clothes for each person.  Even a spare pair of shoes if you can tie them on the outside of the bag.

Great, realistic list. The two items thing that I think should be considered is - a FULL change of clothes & shoes for each family member, and a rechargeable headlamp for each family member in addition to the good flashlight. having your hands free can be crucial. And really this bag you have created is, for a family, the MAIN bag everyone knows to grab even if mom or dad aren't home (for older kids). But each family member needs their own bag, and in addition to these items you mentioned, a change of clothes, & something to sleep in, an emergency poncho (which usually fits over the backpack), a mylar emergency blanket, and something fun to help them during the event - an unread book, a mad libs book, a word search, a journal and a pen, a double deck of cards and a book on card game rules, a sudoku book, a 2-4 person travel game.  I might also include a set of travel sheets and/or a cheap sleeping bag from Walmart, a camping store or Amazon - in winter, helps a lot if you end up at a friend's house, or even in a hotel/motel. Also grab a few family photos, and if you are smart have USB drive with a copy of papers, and pictures of your homes interior rooms and stuff you own that you updates once a year. As a matter of fact I have a mini go bag in my bedroom - my my passport and SS card, cash etc, as well that goes int the bigger bag by the door. I also have a hospital bag - thing's I want/need if I end up spending the night in a hospital ER because a room isn't available, or if I need to go to the hospital to support a family member. I created one for my mom and one for me after her first middle of the night hospital visit. I would add a roll of TP.

Don't forget your pets. I have go-bags for my cats and dog.
Food, water, bowls, leashes, collapsible litter box, clumping litter, scoop, poop bags, treats and travel crates and laminated copies of vet (shot) records. Make sure your pet is microchip is up to date and take a current photo for ID. I personally add a toy or two for each. Personalize the list for your pets needs. Good luck. 🙏

Plain backpack- packed to go
(2) 32 oz bottles of water + filter Sawyer mini water filter
(4) protein bars per person
First aid kit w/ur meds & list
Charging cables & a power bank
Hand crank NOAA emergency radio
$300 cash in small bills in backpack
Flashlight & extra batteries
Ziploc bag w/identification papers

Water, filter, protein bars, first aid kit , 72 hr medication , charger, power bank, radio, cash , flash light. Document laminated copies

One thing you can add if you’ve got your car is a gas can and maybe a siphon…. If you run out of gas without a can you’re SOL.

2 water bottles, one sawyer water filter, 4 protein bars, medication, adventure medical kit with ziplock, phone charger with cable, hand crank radio, identification, 300 in cash small bills, flashlite with batteries, laminated copies of passport, insurance policies, everything that proves who you are and what you have

This is a very good basic start, assuming people are heading to their vehicles having extra food and water, clothing, blanket, etc. is an easy store in trunks and under the backseat of a pick up truck. Worry about years of photographs, digital copies on a flash drive in that bag wouldn’t be a bad idea if you have the time to do it.

A laptop and one shoe.  Oh.  So you've met me, huh?  Except I would grabbed the wrong sized shoe and would have forgotten the laptop.

A 2nd pair of eyeglasses

I have a car battery charger (jumper cables) that also has a light and a usb plug to charge a phone.  It’s been VERY useful for when there are power outages and will definitely come along if I have to evacuate.

A photo of every person in your group. Print them individually on white paper and they can be pinned on notice boards or hung on fences if someone goes missing. Have a pen so that you can write your contact information on the sign.

"it walked out with the kids last week" 😂👍

Thomas's wife here.  Underwear in unopened bag, same with socks. T-shirt, pair of jeans, zip hoodie.  Thanks for this concise video.  I may actually be able to get my husband to watch it.  😊😊😊
