As always a huge shout out to Adam's wiki and what it has to say on blast and why it is essentially the best shield type https://roguetrader.wh40k.wiki/Energy_Attacks_Space_(Encyclopedia)

A good thing to remember: you can always scrap your ship’s body and ram upgrades with no scrap metal loss.

Body upgrades don’t give you much. If you’ve taken some damage, scrapping one upgrade tier and healing to full HP is gonna be more profitable. And ram upgrades, well, they’re pretty much useless anyway.

People skip the void combat? I actually like it... granted I don't usually play on Unfair, so maybe its worse there... Still happy to see you make a guide detailing some of the finer points.

Hell, it's about tiiime (been waiting for this)

This is great! The combat itself is familiar, but I usually have a hard time finding easy encounters before I get ship XP.

if you use a torpedo and then use all hands on deck after moving, you can launch 4 torps in one turn

I still say the ship in this game should have been an Ambition class Cruiser, rather than a frigate.
I know that by the end we'll upgrade this ship to hilarious levels, but still at least for rp reasons they should have made it an Ambition.
Also because the interior scenes show an ambient much bigger than the exterior, i mean a train line one a ship 1.6km long (including the end of the engines and the tip of the prow), a cathedral the size of a hive spire, unending bowels of corridors and rooms??

If you're in a fight with some giant ship that's too dangerous to come close to, it's possible to kite it all over the map while hitting it with boarding parties until it's dead. This ability has huge range and you can hit them while staying out of range of all their guns.

God tier! Now I just need a colony video and I can confidentially play the game!

A little exploit you can do if you have the upgraded torpedo control is use the ability after using all your movement and weapons and you get a second turn with all movement and weapon cooldown reset. I don't use it because it's obviously a bug, but it can help you out if you're stuck.

Invest nothing in ram. Put it all into your hull. Ship combat when the game came out was almost impossible half the time. Now it's mostly easy. Just pick the biggest numbers and you are pretty much there. Make sure to always avoid torpedoes and you are good.

5:17 - You can... CLICK... on the equipment slot and get a selection menu? What, how... wow. Thank you :D
This was my biggest annoyance - having to go back and forth through an inventory with a bunch of new stuff, trying to sort through everything. (Did I miss this in a tutorial or am I just stupid?)

thanks to your space combat route guide on spreadsheet I beat this game on grim darkness

@ivan-u3w6w 2 months ago

And void combat is quite easy overall, especially when you unlock more skills, also there is a colony upgrade that gives you an npc escort ship that can buy you time and maybe deal some damage.

The best advice I gave myself was: Just turn the difficulty down to easy before you repair, so it costs like 2 scrap. I liked it on my first playthrough, but I absolutely can't be asked to bother on subsequent ones.

Any thoughts on the Fireproof Plating that you can get after the Heartless? 50% less fire dmg seems useful with Chaos ships at least, not sure if any of the others use fire weapons.

I find the torpedo-spamming pirate escort better than the navy one. It tries to stay away instead of suicing itself, and torpedoes hit Drukari through their evasion BS.
