I have over a hundred hours in this game and I've yet to get free insight points other than scanning for new routes.

Not sure if this was mentioned, but at your ceremony on Dargonus, if you select Cassia to be by your side you get 50 insight … which pretty much eliminates this problem

mashes dangerous route button

I don't know about y'all but I love the easy exp and scrap

"Just don't be doing a Heretical evil playthrough and you should be fine."

Me: "............welp."

Insight points isn’t that bad for me it’s like 1 in 10 warp travels on gold/yellow routes but I’m on normal difficulty and red routes are always combat but I not seen them give insight points yet if they explained that u didn’t have make every route stable and safe it would save all the confusion

Build safe routs straight from your colonies (except Foulstone since its one jump from Janus) and Footfall. Hoard the rest.

After you get the cheaper ship repair talent thats the moment insight becomes nearly useless and you can always go the orange route and select the worst event solution which damages the ship badly. Its so cheap to repair, theres no need to reduce the route lower than orange.

Main thing imo is to always chart because it gives +1 navigator insight. Sometimes you can overlook additional charts. And always explore a system fully for another +1 insight. I'm currently at 8 even though I went all the way back to Footfall to pick up Solomon. Oh and another thing, only reduce the difficulty to yellow. It might give you good events including possible navigator insight +5 but also it will usually only cost 1 insight instead of 2 or more.

im 42 hours in and i definitely soft locked my damn self in act two, damnit. anyway thank you for the video. at least im not the only one.

OK I needed to watch this. I was unsure about spoilers but this was much needed info

Funny, it seems they fixed it, because now I am sitting on 100 insight.

Going back-and-forth on yellow routes cost no insight and has a good chance of getting a event to gain insight. In my experiences at least

On the capital world of Dargonus there is colony project named emporium that will reduce the cost to chart a new route by 1. With this upgrade, new "yellow" routes cost 4 navigator points in total (two to chart, and two to make safe) rather than 5.  Personally I like to have my capital world charted directly to all of my colonies as well as Footfall, so I wait to chart routes until after this has been unlocked.

It's amazing how Owlcat pretty much makes the best RPGs these days and then they always manage to add some mechanic that's just downright baffling horrendous, like, what were they thinking?

I have no idea how my people on my ship keep falling to chaos I treat them great I actually dealt with the issues they faced and they’re still like yeah I want that decay and that futa demoness!*long wiff* that sweet sweet demon gabooosie

Doing the Emperor's work

Thank you

Happened to me so I just take the red or orange routes and fight chaos on my ship constantly.

I used all of mine right off the bat. I was just cruising back and forth becuase I didnt know they were such a rare resource. Luckily the player can get 11 or 12 from  one of the missions in Draconous

Hell nah! I know OwlCat and I wasn't surprised when I accidently, like you, encountered the softlock. Downloaded Toybox asap and gotbrid of it. The game is amazing and I have no qualms using toybox for this. Too old to be grinding in games still.
