No witcher has ever died in his own bed -Vesemir

That is actually better than Netflix's Witcher

Life as a Witcher may be harsh, but the weight of Gwent outweighs all.

Actually, if you were born in 1165, Kaer Morhen wouldn't be sacked yet, that happened in 1194, so you would probably die fighting in the actual sacking :=)

Thats why Geralt is lucky he had Dandelion.

Crazy how this is the life of a Witcher but when we play as Geralt, we experience very little of what the average Witcher experiences. Normal witchers don’t get involved with attractive sorceresses, develop relationships with relatively progressive people who take time to learn about Witchers or their mutations. Some of them might’ve even died after their first contract so they never see any chance of glory or anything.

One thing I need to clarify. Witchers rarely used the law of surprise, because it rarely worked out for them. Geralt used it on Duny, because he wanted to make a point. He actually didn't want Ciri at first. He was avoiding her as much as he could, but when he family died, he took her.  What was more common was unwanted kids or orphans were hand out to Witchers.

I forget how grim dark this series is. Feels like taking a medieval knight and twisting every part into grim.

0:15 The way he said Temeria really grinds my gears.

I like how being a Witcher is basically being a medieval spartan

Btw, the mutations that turn human boys into Witchers technically start long before the mutagenic trials. Along with the harsh physical training the boys are fed a diet that includes magical/mutagenic mushrooms and lichen, that grow in the caverns, Dungeons and cellars underneath Kart Morhen. It helps with their physical conditioning and probably recovery.

Ciri gets fed those over the winter when she's brought in to Kaer Morhen before Triss comes in and berates them for it

Ciri: Sounds like a good profession to dream of.

And this is why adventurers form parties.
1. It's easier to get what's owed from clients with friends.
2. There is safety in numbers.
3. Party members have each other for company even when and if the rest of the world resents them.
4. Adventurers honor, remember, and avenge their fallen.

When every meal you've ever eaten has to be earned by going into a monster's lair and slay it in its natural environment, i'd have to say its no fucking surprise there are no witchers left. I doubt even 1 in a thousand can survive for more than a couple decades. Its just the worst life.

Witcher saved me, Im broke so law of surprise was invoked. I get home, wife just pulled peanut butter cookies from the oven, I love peanut butter cookies. With a heavy heart I inform her those cookies.... belong to the witcher.

Fun fact the reason Geralt was so effective was the fact that he went through extra experimental mutations that no other witcher candidate has ever survived.

You did a better job than the new Netflix Witcher season

Actually the whole witchers have no emotions trope is made up. Geralt is the most obvious example of this, he is extremely passionate person and only acts like he’s cold and heartless

Number one reason it sucks to be a witcher: one day you're Henry Cavill and the next, you wake up to being the budget Hemsworth.😊
