What do you guys think of the Mutant Apocalypse? Is it canon or not?

Honestly I know these episodes are canon but I still refuse to believe it,ain't no way my goats end up washed like this ✌️😭

The writers said if’s an alternative universe which makes sense since the Kraang were defeated for good a long time ago. I still love it though because it’s a mix of Logan and Mad Max. Definitely a damn good episode. Not canon, but badass nonetheless.

Mutant apocalypse being canon or not depends on personal preferences. I, personally, see it as canon (even if special makes me wanna cry)

You know what? I find the Mutant Apocalypse arc to be quite appreciatable. As bleak as it was as a Series Finale it also felt really ballsy and mature. Like, it brought the Turtle bros into incredibly bold directions like making Raphael a big gruff viking like warrior, Donatello a robot and Leonardo a gigantic tyrannical overlord. It certainly was something else. The whole setting felt really Mad Max influenced.

my theory/headcanon is that sometime after the turtles may saved humanity and even reversed the mutations (also there are the turtles in space). maybe some pockets of non mutant humanity survived the bomb and the turtles helped them rebuilt civilization and that is why they are so famous as heros in the far future.

Since the creators say it's canon then it is

They protected everything they could've and still losted almost everything, everything was for nothing.

First & foremost Thank for the video explanation, I remember seeing them back in 2012 on tv and saying this is a hit ! They way they did these turtles is down bad  and goes to show how much potential they did have and How lazy the writers got...I could've seen a last Ronin arc with these turtles.

0:30 It's Miyamoto Usagi, Usagi Yojimbo is the name of his franchise

I think it is not canon because I am pretty sure Krang has been defeated, and them coming back with a massive atomic bomb with mutation would not make sense, so this is obviously a what-if alternate universe where the turtles failed to save everyone; but hey, I will admit this Donnie's robot form is so badass it looks straight out of a sci-fi FPS game.

In the words of Plo Koon: “Not to me.”

Mutant Apocalypse always felt like fever dream

I never was a big fan of the Mutant Apocalypse arc. But even if it is canon, I don't think the Kraang set off the bomb. UNLESS you count the 2012 comics as canon, then you could make the argument that Kraang Primordius (a new evolution of Kraang Prime) did it.

Lowkey, this iteration of turtles can’t catch a break. They had to deal with one life changing event after another, to the point where they had to go to back in time. I’m not big on quiting, but I would have thrown in the towel around the beginning of season 4 and just lived with Fugitoid.

I think some people are depicting this as non-cannon because it’s such a sad way for the 2012 adaptation to end.

If it's canon, I hate it. If not... I still hate it. After everything the turtles went through the writers decided to give them the bad ending. I wish this was like "Same as it never was" in TMNT 2003. I like to view this as a what if scenario.

It was promoted on Nicktoons. I remember seeing the promos on Nicktoons and on YouTube. Kria and Jack from The Thundermans promoting them.

3:27 How would they come back? Both Kraang Prime and Kraang Subprime(rip Gilbert Gottfried) were killed by the Triceratons

Fallowing 4 seasons of continuous storytelling with an anthology series is such a weird thing to do.
