As a black kid growing up, when this movie came out, it opened me up to a whole new sport. I never touched ice but for years, where I lived at the time. We played street hockey. We even had neighbourhood teams. Scheduled games. Brackets. Playoffs. In our second year all the parents put in for a big trophy that switched teams every year depending on who won the final game of the playoffs. Mighty Ducks changed our lives! Quack! Quack! Quack! Quack!

Growing up in Minnesota in the 80's and 90's, everyone knew someone that was an extra in Mighty Ducks, and they'd tell you about it constantly. 😂

As a kid growing up in rural Georgia, it was my introduction to hockey. It was the perfect storm for me. It was fun, fast paced, and the kids in the movie were exactly the same age as I was. I related to it so much. Now, I’m 46 and it’s still one of my favorite movies of all time! I’m also a diehard hockey fan to this day. I will forever cherish this movie and I’ve now passed it on to my kids, who also love hockey.

This movie was the reason so many kids became hockey fans. Not just in North America, but around the world too.

lol the most Midwest script I’ve ever heard of “gets a dui and has to do community service coaching” 😂   Love the state of hockey

Street Hockey also exploded after this movie came out. Every kid I knew had a pair of roller blades and a hockey stuck

I am a Black woman from Michigan. Never played hockey a day in my life. This was one of mine and my 3 sibling’s favorite movies as kids. We just introduced it to my brother’s kids this past Christmas and watched as a family. (They play hockey every week). They loved it. I still love it!

I'm 46.  I watched the movie as a kid.  But when I showed it to my kids, well, everything changed.  I'm now a hockey coach with two kids playing and I play hockey myself, and it's our favorite sport.  Thanks Mike.

This and NHL 94 made me a hockey fan as a poor indigenous kid living in the middle of nowhere in West Texas. No chance at playing hockey but I was a fan.

I never considered this, but I wonder how much this movie contributed to the "roller blades" craze of the 90's. I lived in South Florida where the temperature hadn't approached freezing in anyone's living memory, yet for probably 4 summers in a row hockey was the main sport we played in our driveways, everyone of us on rollerblades, and everyone of us thinking imagining ourselves as the Mighty Ducks.

I’m 33 and still quote all the ducks movies on a daily basis.

DUCKS FLY TOGETHER!!!

Can confirm. After seeing this movie, I got rollerblades, stick, net, gloves and even bought an Anaheim Ducks jersey. Prior to this movie I had watched a few Kings and Oilers games with a buddy and that's it. This movie sparked all sorts of new fun and insane excitement for years to come in my life through hockey leagues, friends and the whole environment.

ITS KNUCKLEPUCK TIME!!! Take me back to the 90s!!!

I saw the movie in Germany as a small child, and the Mighty Ducks immediately became my favorite team, and still are. That's how much the movie shaped me. Greetings from Germany

As an Australian… the impact those movies had on Australian kids. Every kid i know who is into hockey in Australia learned the sport because of those films when we were kids.
It didn’t just bring it to the US Warmer states, it brought it to countries where it doesn’t even snow.
I

As a youngster in the 90’s in CA, this movie came out when I was like 7-8.

After this movie came out me, my cousin in Orange county played roller hockey league &  we’d go to the Ducks game. Playing in the streets trying knuckle puck & flying V etc.

The Mighty Ducks allowed me to play hockey. I was about 2 when the ‘92 Olympics were held, and I was mesmerized. I would apparently stay completely still, glued to the screen watching hockey, and constantly blurted out, “that’s what I wanna do.” Nobody in my family had ever played and I don’t think I was taken seriously. It wasn’t until the release of the Mighty Ducks later that year (and I was still obsessed with hockey) that my parents relented and got me into skating lessons lol. Thank you for giving this movie the attention it deserves!

Me and my brother are huge hockey fans because of these movies. If it weren't for these movies two Mexican kids growing up in southern AZ wouldn't love the game like we do till this day

My brother and I were doubles in this.  I checked Josh in that corner 13 times.  Last guy to dodge the slapshot.  Our teams skating coach was Olympic Figure Skater Diane Ness which is how we got in.  Some days we spent 8 straight hours stuck in the rank New Hope Arena locker rooms and never touch the ice.  Played keep away with Emilio who couldn't skate but he was a good sport and played for around a half hour.  It was mostly boring and miserable, but just a tad better than going to school.

bro gets the hockey dad of all time award.
