In my experience dnd is mostly just a bunch of people sitting around arguing about what we should do for 45 minutes

OH, I love the clip of the Barbarian blowing a Wish spell on a bag of Funyuns; while his partymates look on in shock. That's classic!

Dad lore goes crazy.

5:50 I would kill to see this kind of character.

Thank you Wizard… I wanted to ask the same question during that whole Tea business.

And I don’t even like tea

I don't know why but this makes me happy

Lol on the mom and dad lore. I’ll be honest, when I make dnd lore I keep in mind something I already know about my parents. You don’t know anything about them. You know who they are now, sure, and who they used to be after you were born. But you probably have only been told about their past in little tidbits that barely scratch the surface. There will be stuff they will never tell, that the people around you will never tell you, or maybe just things they don’t think to tell you. You’ll never know your parents’ backstory, only the highlights someone cares to share. And so I write that into any parents I give my dnd characters. There will always be some implication of some history there, but my characters will not know it and may never know it. I like doing this for two reasons, one, it’s true irl, and two, it leaves the dm room for if they want to use that past history for anything. I usually discuss this part with them.

So you’re mom the prom queen? Yeah, maybe she was, but maybe she also used to street race and like heck she’ll tell you.

Sure, dad may have gone on an epic adventure, but he may have also had his friends leave him stuck up a tree while on a dare before. Why ever would he tell you that?

So that’s what I mean. There will always be things you won’t tell or will forget to tell your kids. So kids, never expect your parents to tell you everything. And if you want to write rather 3D parents instead of a trope one for your characters, I suggest starting with that mindset. Come up with a rough idea of a past, but also keep in mind that the character doesn’t know that even if they are being influenced by it via their parents.

Just my thoughts on all of that.

‏‪3:44‬‏ our cleric worships a vulture goddess, she believes violence is natural and sometimes needed, and that eating corpses is a virtue

5:59 lol, honestly i would want to see this in an actual campaign now

+respect for putting the vid in the thumbnail first in the video

Aasimar Wizard: Time to plan a game with everyone

The joy your videos bring is unmatched

5:18 who, and I cannot stress this enough, makes TEA with microwaved water!? kettles are not expensive.

As a (mostly) Halfling player, I guess I am a liar... Well... no one trusts a Halfling, so I can say what I want anyway XD

Hilariously enough for the parent lore one it is the opposite for my parents, my mother ran from people with machetes on horseback, hiked through the mountains for days and crossed raging rivers fought wild bours and my dad was like ya, I pulled corn for a few hours, went sledding and dislocated my shoulder once, it was pretty rad.

I got to play a Lawful Evil Celestial Warlock/Divine Soul Sorcerer. He made a pact with a Deathpact Angel. This character is part of the Orzhov Syndicate guild in the Ravnica world and tricked the homeless to seek shelter at the church (in exchange for their souls). I was a devoted member and deserved higher pay.

Cheese is cheese

Dice king is probably accurate. some of the dice sets has been sent on quests across the realm, they have moved away but the kingdom is always there hometown.

In the whole tea conversation thing, the wizard is the only sane one.
