Bony Soil is essentially soil that is full of human remains, which can include a ton of different, sometimes rare items, such as the candle he found, which takes a ton of work to make otherwise.

It's often referred to as the games Gacha mechanic, because you can get lucky and save a lot of prep work for higher tier items, or just add to your personal bone collection 😂

BetterRuins is the mod for the more “grandiose” ruins.

You gain more max HP by way of nutrition and damage mitigation by armor. In the character menu you have several bars that you need to fill up and maintain for fruit, vegetables, proteins, grains, and dairy.

I’ve been heavily looking forward to this reaction, I hope you do continue this vintage story series.

Very late explanation, but Vintage story's lore is great! The tl:dr is that a long time ago a disease appeared that melted everything organic, called the Rot. To fight it, people went underground and a man named Jonas Falx created a machine that warped space time and effectivly hard-reset the world. The monsters in VS are either constructs Jonas made that went rogue, or Humans that got warped by the parallel dimension we call the "Rust World". Humans that survived rebuilt, and humans closest to the machine got shunted into a limbo state and brought back as alchemical "seraphs" (what you play as ingame).

Neddy The Noodle has a lore video on VS's timeline that is VERY good, I highly reccommend watching it!

25:46 It was Dave. Remember the intro?
26:26 That's cause they died and respawned. It's a game mechanic.

25:05 it’s not nor is it a mod, Jay’s chat is just like that

6:57 Minecraft is a strange case. Yes, Mojang has said they've internally created the full story of the game. But they also said they'll never reveal it to players. It's more like, they use the lore to design the world and make updates, then players use that world as a sandbox to tell their own stories.

So for Game Theory, each new Minecraft theory he does builds off the last one. So it kept compounding until, in a way, even he just ended up with his own unique interpretation of the lore, just like Mojang wanted. Some chunks of it have strong evidence and likely is the real lore, while for others he just goes off the foundations of his previous theories (which themselves may or may not be wrong, so it's like taking steps in the dark and making it into a theory video), with mixed results

Not liking blocky aesthetic is a wild take consdering its widly liked and usualy really charming since it blames kinda to that old school charm

Cant wait until you reach the high fantasy run he made in this game it was awesome and long!

Quick summary of why Battle of Samar was a last stand was if the small force made up of escort carriers, escort destryer, and 3 normal destroyers failed in the impromptu battle, then MacArthur landing in Leyte would be bombarded by battleships with nothing nearby enough to save him or the landing forces.

you gotta watch his full series, its truley incredible

Yippee!!! I love the Avalon series!!

01:05 Voxel graphics is not owned by Minecraft (Mojang), but Minecraft is so popular that it made that type of 3D objects and models (voxel style) so ingrained in people's minds that they think Minecraft no matter what whenever another game uses voxels with 1st person pov in a 3D world.
And "updating" the graphics to not be voxels would require a whole rewrite of many parts of the game and remaking many textures. It would be a completely different game.
7 Days to Die for instance, kinda gets away from it, but the whole world is still voxel blocks to build and destroy, just like Minecraft. Voxels just make a destructible environment players can also build in, much easier to do and be performance optimized.

28:02 The great wall of China has several of its laborers entombed in it...

If you want to know the full extent of Vintage Story's main lore, please react to "The Full Lore of Vintage Story EXPLAINED" by NeddyTheNoodle.
He goes the extra mile of having key scenes illustrated and certain lore exerpts voice acted and just the vibes in general are actually perfect to really get a feel for this world and its past and present.

3:24 I definitely want to see a reaction to the Vintage Story lore as it's so interesting even with how little of the full story we know of so far.

There's a lore video by NeddyTheNoodle that would be a great video to react to and learn from.

The vintage story playthrough is great, hope you continue

YESSS!!!

Oh, enemies don’t drown… they… go for a walk…
