I think my favorite part about Vintage Story is how detailed the game is despite still not being a finished game in the slightest.

Reason Vintage Story can be as complex as it is, is because it looks blocky and simplistic. It allows more mechanical complexities within the game, because less dev time spent on making models and making sure they tie to the game aesthetic. It's same reason why games like Dwarf Fortress can be as complex as they are.
Also Vintage Story does something very similar to Valheim - it has simplistic graphics, but astonishingly good looking weather and lighting effects, which creates a very immersive feel to the game.

To be frank, Vintage Story is growing into the game that I wish Minecraft had become. Its a genuine survival game that STAYS a survival game, it does get easier once you progress enough, but it does stay a survival game rather than just being able to produce everything you need and eventually sitting around asking yourself what to do next. Everything you do matters and has weight, every system is so much deeper, both the devs and the community are great so far with modding built right into the game. And to give you an idea of the general complexity this has compared to Minecraft: While you can potentially make a stone/metal pickaxe within literally the first minute of a world, getting even a copper pick in Vintage Story (No stone pick in the game.) is usually a multi day long process. It involves: Chopping wood with an axe because your hands cannot break logs, finding and fashioning clay to make your first smithing tools, gathering enough wood to make a supply of charcoal, gathering trace amounts of surface metal because you cant mine it yet, before finally melting down and casting the metal into your first pickaxe. All while needing to hunt and forage / farm, and defending yourself from both wild animals and hordes of eldritch creatures. Needless to say, I play a LOT more Vintage Story than Minecraft nowadays.

Funnily enough, very few mods of these game are on the graphic department.

More are about adding EVEN MORE complexity to the systems. Full on butchering process, overhauling the entirety of the cooking system, hell, adding more usages for mechanical automatization and windmills!

So you know the sound in the dark you didn't like?

That's an enemy you have to kill, or else you have to deal with an endless horde as it cranks up the spawn rates!

I tried once getting very drunk during a heavy temporal storm, basicaly i wasnt abble keep my camera still, it felt like i was being throw around

His modded series is pretty epic, the server has a bunch of factions and it seems he spent a lot of time editing it together to be pretty great.

33:00 That's a pretty common misconception if you don't know just how much is in the game. He didn't show really any of the crafting systems, or how you find resources, or how you process them. It's only really similar to minecraft in that it's a block game.

Oh yeah, this is the game that I recommended the lore video about a long time ago!

MY FAVOURITE SURVIVAL GAME EVER

Fun Fact: The Shiver (four-legged, split-open-head demon) and Bowtorn (bipedal thing with the back spines) are implied to have been people at some point.

Fun Fact: The Bowtorn's back spines are actually a split-open ribcage, and the Shiver has a very rare behavior where it stands upright and looks longingly at the sky.

If minecraft tried to sue everyone that looked like minecraft there would be a million lawsuits.  They wouldn't win this one because minecraft isn't voxel.  Vintage story is like a much more advanced minecraft.  It has a lot of mechanics and since it works on a voxel level there is so much more range for the graphics.

Holy God you're reacting to Rubrix Raptor!

This game is SO freaking Complex, it practically has noithing to do with Minecraft. In minecraft, you throw some ore in the fire and you get iron bars. In Vintage story: You have to built a firepit and make clay forms for the barrens and burn the clay forms to make them useful. Then you have to dig out a charcoal pit and burn wood in it to get charcoal, so the fire you use to melt the ore is actually hot enough. Then, you have to pour the liquid metal into the form and wait for it to cool down. And if you want to smith something, it gets REAL complex.

And I LOVE it!

You should definitely check out the rest of Rubix's series of this game. He's already finished their third playthrough of it, and there making plans for a fourth.

it's not so much 'time' progression as generalized 'what you've accomplished' progression it basically goes
Stone age > Pottery/Ceramic age > Copper Age > Bronze Age > Iron age > Steel age
also small note here about the detail of the game, it's fairly detailed, but there's also some mods that go into even more detail, like primitive survival, expanded foods, culinary artillery, combat overhaul and all it's subsidiary mods, and a lot more
also second note right quick, the mods aren't posted through some third party site, the developer hosts the entire mod database in a page on their own website, and even has notes on the mods stating when mods are outdated to try and help minimize problems caused by that

Rubixraptor was the on to get me into this amazing game, the start is the hardest part but we are in love with it, I highly suggest watching his other Vintage Story videos and then maybe buying the game.  Awesome reaction

I really hope he keeps watching Raptors full series of this!

PEAK, MY LORD, PEAK.

10:10 I like this part because it's like those scenes where you don't know what's happening but you know it's very bad, so you're only left with what your mind makes up about the situation.
