I was in a guitar shop in Cardiff early one morning and JDB walked in to try a guitar . I didn't realise it was him until he started playing.........out of this world !!! Felt I had my own mini concert as it was only the two of us there !!! I will never forget this moment !!!

Brings a tear to my eye whenever I hear anyone speak so glowingly and lovingly about the late, great Stuart Adamson. Bless ya, James.

The most underrated singer ever
The most underrated guitarist ever
Legend.

This man is simply a blessing.

Amazing guitarist and singer too! One thing I love about the Manics is that they were never afraid to defy the stereotypes and were able to beautifully blend their deep political/existential lyrics with heavy 100% Marshall killer riffs. Too smart for Glam rock and too glamourous for Grunge/alternative.

Love this just because JDB plays This is Yesterday ❤

James is a phenomenal guitar player. No other word is appropriate

Canada here and son of the best and most wonderful Welshman I have yet to meet.. Thanks dad. I love this band and have been a fan since day one.

Gold Against The Soul is the most lush, sonically progressive and underrated album I've ever heard. It's perfect.

Always interesting to see how JDB plays his guitar lines. I'm always massively humbled to find out how wrong I've been playing them after learning them by ear

Awesome he talks of Stuart Adamson, John McGeoch etc. Funnily enough, I'd speak of him in the very same sentence as those guys. He's got some inventive use of chord progressions and the like, especially when he's knocking out Enola/Alone, there.

This Is Yesterday still give me chills - so beautiful!

The Welsh, famous for their singing voices but my gosh, give one a guitar & they channel that voice through it - there are so many examples! Wonderful when they can give us both & great song writing.

I liked Manics, then I seen them live and was blown away. How JDB can play and sing the way he does is crazy.

I love him.

J D B has that perfect mix of control and intensity—his playing is tight and melodic but never sterile. His tone’s got real bite to it, cutting through without sounding overproduced, and the attack in his picking gives everything this punchy, urgent feel. You can hear the classic rock influencs he talks about here ( and punk)  but it’s driven with proper grit and purpose rather than flash.
What really sets him apart is how he pairs that with those huge, soaring vocals—most players would dial it back, but he goes all in on both.

Nothing feels wasted either, every lead line and rhythm part actually pushes the song forward. Genuinely one of those players who’s way more lethal than he gets credit for. Manics are severely underated IMO.

A very underrated Guitarist, great Singer and Writer with a Stellar Amp, what's not to love ❤

JDB is a brilliant lead and rhythm player. Absolutely up there as one of the best UK guitarists and great song writer

Fabulous Marshall - thank you for the 900 and for showcasing this incredible songwriter, singer and guitarist- flies WAY too far below most people’s radar.. as does the 900

James is an underrated guitarist playing an underrated Marshall amp. Quite fitting really because both are awesome

Such a humble guy, incredible song writer.
