I would like to put in a suggestion for: Vintage Modern Studio 20 watt. JVM Studio 20 watt with the clean/crunch green, orange red. And the OD1 with green, orange, red. Both models with 20 watt, 5 watt .05 watt power scaling. Something like that. I’ll buy both. 😀

The Studio 900 surprised me. Dialed in, it sounded great. Lots of Marshall sounds in it.

Friday afternoon projects sounds like something we did at Stantonbury Campus back in the early 1980s. That secondary school was really great back then when no expense was spared trying to make their Milton Keynes new town experiment work. Bridgewater Hall at least -- hehe. I wonder how many working at Marshall went there before it went downhill. Quite a few I'd guess.

Excellent discussion. A couple things though, you can’t adequately address volume and perceived tone without also addressing Fletcher-Munson; and it seems like no one ever addresses where the distortion comes from in power amp distortion. It’s always about the output valves without ever mentioning the phase inverter, which is where most of it resides.

Absolutely love my Studio JCM800 (SC20H) Been recording with it for years now and literally just dropped an EP with all the guitar tracks being recorded through that very same amp. It’s also what I use when I stream, and I constantly get asked what amp I’m using. It’s incredible!

Such a great amp.
ChA is crystal clean & provides that old school Marshall gain.
I use Plumes EarthQuaker pedal in front to open more customization.

ChB provides 90s+ metal tone - distortion sound also found in alternative bands such as Foo Fighters , Offspring etc.
Overdrive sound flexibility is tops.
Plug & play no pedal needed in front.

112 Mesa Boogie UK V30 is perfect match so ive found

Owned one of these since April 25. It doesn't have enough clean headroom with a drummer and the channel A isn't as bright as channel B. Otherwise it's a great portable amp for venues and rehearsal spaces providing the cab, and it's manageable at home volumes too.

Perfect!! Studio series is a perfect name and application for these lower wattage compact amps. These r perfect for recording and practicing with a good recordable tone. This is summn all the amp companies should b takin more serious. Not just sum novelty but just a down sized amp. Most people aint using amps live but they still want tht sound when they record
