"Painting emotions and sceneries more than actually trying to tell a straight forward story," is one of the best if not the very best description of YES ever.

This is a band firing on all cylinders

That bass line is sick

Yes did some great music, but to me, this is their Masterpiece.
Whenever I hear this song, I am immediately transported to my eighteen-year-old self, driving down a San Diego freeway, singing this song at the top of my lungs. My first job after high school graduation included doing some deliveries, and this song was played frequently on the radio then. Even today, I cannot sit still if this song is playing...it just can't happen. I'm singing along as I type this, and my little dogs are looking at me with a questioning look in their eyes like, "Mom, are you okay?" 😀

"Progressive and adventurous" Perfect description of this band. Loved your thoughtful reaction to this masterpiece by Yes.

You are one of the first channels I have seen that actually go through the lyrics in an intelligent way.  I'm impressed!

The bass is incredible. It's a standout in this song🔥🔥

The Yes song I usually recommend is my favorite- 'Awaken'. A very spiritual song.

"i've Seen All Good People" is amazing.

The first time I saw Yes I was 16 and they played on a round stage that slowly turned as they played at the Long Beach Arena.  It was soooo cool!! We were in the front row of the loge. When they walked off stage and under our seats to their dressing rooms, we hung over the edge waving at them and they waved back. Yeah, I know I'm a geek 😅

You get it with the lyrics, "you're not supposed to decode them, you're supposed to feel them!"

Great introduction to a classic progressive band of the 70's. Don't stop here!! They have an amazing collection. "And you and I" is a complex satisfying listen. Check out the live version, it won't disappoint!!

For the first time hearing YEX, you nailed it. a sonic journey through the maze of emotions that doesn't leave the road so that you don't get lost.

Great reaction.... and "yes", they take you on a journey!

I couldn’t wait till you got to the keyboard solo. That is Mr. Rick Wakeman.

This is one of the best Yes reaction videos I've seen. Your insights are awesome.

I've loved this band for decades... mostly for their 70s material, not so much the later stuff.

Wow! You nailed it with the lyrics.. John Anderson said he chooses  words that would evoke a feeling, not necessarily to create a narritive.

‘72 man 1 st time I heard them was hooked - every time I hear them it’s like its the first time
I’m 70
Rabbit hole worthy

As an old Yes Head from way back in the day, I always enjoy seeing younger folks like yourself digging what we unearthed many decades ago. What really impressed me was how quickly you "got it." You avoided the trap so many new reviewers of Yes fall into, and that is lead singer Jon Anderson uses words like notes, relying on the vowel sounds to augment the instrumentation. You picked up - surprisingly quickly - that you didn't think the lyrics were as vital to the narrative as much as they were to the music. You had other elements of your review I applaud, but that one stood out. Great job!
