Cuban -Coffee Maker here ! You would be hard pressed to find a Cuban household that didn’t have a Bianchi [Moka] espresso kettle . If you were to try a “Cuban grind/blend coffee” ,you would fall in love instantly. In the U.S. you can find the coffee readily available in super markets in urban areas . Most of the better beans are roasted in South Florida . We Cubans down here do the opposite , we scald the whole milk ,pour into a cup then add the coffee in. This is the way I’ve been drinking it for 61 years .😊

For cowboy coffee you dump in some cold water at the end and the grounds drop to the bottom, you don't drink chewy coffee

There are stainless steel moka pots. We have the Bialetti brand.
You can also buy little metal plates that will heat on an induction cooker and then the plate directly heats the aluminium moka pot.
Both work fine. But the stainless steel moka pots are great 👍

French press is my daily drink whether I am at home, traveling, or camping. I always take my press and grinder along with some good quality beans. I am never disappointed.

My dad says that during his march across Europe in WW2, every once in a while the kitchen folks would catch up to them. They would make a "cowboy" style coffee in basically a steel trash can you'd dip a steel cup in and if you were lucky you'd be able to get some powdered milk and sugar to put in it.

AeroPress has been my full time home/camp/hike/whatever coffee/espresso maker since 2010. I also bought the "travel kit" years ago (before the GO was a "thing") just to use camping or whatever.. Wound up going back to taking just the press and a screen filter which tucks easily in a canvass "coffee/tea" bag. Super lightweight system. I love the thing and the taste of the coffee. The original Aeropress is the absolute best coffee related purchase I have ever made.

25:04 One thing you missed with the cowboy coffee, you are supposed to pour a bit of cold water in it, right before you pour. That makes the grounds go to the bottom so you get fewer in your cup.

Old fashion percolator. No extra filters. Can store the coffee and utensils in the percolator, not the fastest but can set up and leave it. The pot can easily be used for heating water for other things also, like hot chocolate etc.

AeroPress is my daily. It doesn't get any more basic than drop coffee. Hot water plus coffee in a cup. No machine needed.

Funny thing about cowboy coffee is that it's very similar to how professional coffee experts evaluate coffees and roasts. You put ground coffee in your cup, pour near boiling water over the grounds, and let it steep about 4 minutes. Then you crack the crust with a spoon, stir it up, and skim off the floaties. Then sip!

☕️ When I make coffee while camping, I use an old fashioned stainless steel stove top percolator. It's the only time I ever brew coffee that way, and it always tastes amazing!

If I brewed coffee that exact same way at home, I'm sure it just wouldn't taste as good.

I think the aeropress would be one of the quickest for clean up. Remove the filter holder and push the puck of grounds with the paper filter straight out the end. Rinse, dry and done!

Awesome video. Got inspired! One thing: you don't really need that stirrer for making steamed milk. Just use the french press on the hot milk and repeatedly press through it. Works like a charm!

I have multiple ways of making a good cup of coffee when out in the mountains. But I prefer a good pour over everything else.

I’m an Aeropress fan when camping. Easy to clean with limited water. Occasionally use instant as a last resort 😜.

I grew up drinking a Puertorican style of making coffee that’s similar to cowboy coffee. My grandma would lightly boil water with coffee grounds directly in it, then she would pour into a second pot through a re-usable cloth filter (we call it a coffee sock). That gets rid of the grounds so you don’t have to feel them in your mouth, and it makes an extremely full cup of coffee. My second favorite, just cuz it’s a little easier, is the mocha pot, only one I’ve found that makes a comparably full bodied cup.

I live in Colorado and I use the Aeropress. One thing to remember is that Colorado is high altitude so our water doesn't boil as hot as lower altitudes so it takes more adjusting to get a good brew. The Aeropress I have found to be the easiest for me to get the coffee I like.
