The opening of OoT still sends chills down my spine to this day.

Still my favorite game of all time.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is still a masterpiece, and as much as I love Breath of the Wild, still the best 'Zelda' game. 20 years. <3

I know it might be asking much, but can we get more episodes like this please! I think an awesome video each week or even at least each month where you guys focus on and discuss a great game from Nintendo’s past would be must see viewing. Great job!

I honestly don’t think the review was hyperbole, the game is more than just mechanics and function. It has a soul. There’s a complete magic to this game that no other game before it had given. Being in this complete fantasy world of adventure and discovery. Anything could happen, the 3D was incredibly immersive and every moment spent playing the game was absolutely magical. A feeling I will never forget. I didn’t care about the things people seem to point to in terms of “game design”. Was it a bit hard or cryptic or not perfectly designed? Sure. Did any of that matter in the slightest? Nope. I was lost in the game world absolutely enthralled and the magic it gave off overshadows a thousand fold the design flaws it may have. I’d say it is a masterpiece, I don’t play games like a robot analyzing functionality and mechanics from start to finish. I’m a human with soul and emotion and this game delivered an adventure that at the time was unparalleled, and it still holds up to this day.

An all time great

Thank you guys for the beautiful special episode  on Zelda OfT.
Please keep Casey on the show more often. She’s great and very knowledgeable. 👌🏻

I love coming back to video!

I turned 29 on Tuesday! I remember so clearly my older brother bringing it home one day when it first came out, I've beaten it dozens of times in the 20 years since then. Way more than any other game, and the nostalgia is 100% every time

The first sword the smaller big goron gives you does break after a few hits in Ocarina of Time.

Zelda is my all time favorite series and OoT is my fave game of all time. I remember when I first beat the game and the sense of great accomplishment I had doing so. Love this episode!!!

I was 12-13 when I first played OOT on N64 I recall Peer's review so cool to see him talking about the history today.

I was already a game fan but this game got me so much more into games and haven't looked back since

Zelda is for me the most important video game of all time :)

Absolutely brilliant retrospective, gang. So great getting the varying perspectives from you all. Definitely continue to do more of these, Zach.

This game is the most formative to my personal experience with video games. I went from being a video game fan, to an avid video game enthusiast after playing this game. Though it may come across as relatively simple now, the overarching story mixed with all of the fascinating characters, interactions, environments, and secrets that were available in this game all completely changed my perception about what a video game is/could be. It sparked my imagination in so many ways. I've probably beaten this game all the way through about fifteen times and after watching this, I am so compelled to go back to it again.

I wish they had a mode where you could load all the bosses in one arena and have to fight them all at once. Link taking on every boss at the same time. Now that would be a boss rush

This episode gave me the warm and fuzzies. Thank you guys, it's so clear how much this game meant to you as well.

This was such a cool retrospective - love these deep dives. Keep up the good work Zach, and Peer, Sam, and Casey are great as always.

I remember opening this game at Christmas 1999, magic. Still have my copy.

Ocarina Of Time was the my very first Zelda game I ever played and beat. I had watched my best friend play Zelda on NES back in the day on occasion, but I wasn't following why he was so hooked. Let me tell you I couldn't stop playing Ocarina until I beat it. It's simply outstanding and a 10/10 in my book. :)

OMG I want to see Matt again!!!!!! Get him on a NVC soon!!!

56:10 "I wish the 3DS version had done a boss rush mode." IT DID. My favorite thing about the remake! Just go back to your treehouse as an adult and you can play all the bosses back to back, or select any one you want to play. :)
