In this episode, Taylor Halverson and Mike Harris continue their study of Isaiah by exploring Isaiah 13–23, a collection of prophecies against the nations that reveals God's sovereignty over all kingdoms, not just Israel. Together they examine why Babylon, Assyria, Moab, Damascus, Egypt, Tyre, and other surrounding nations become part of Isaiah's message, showing that covenant history unfolds on a global stage where every nation is accountable to God. Along the way, they discuss the historical setting of these prophecies, the rise and fall of empires, and the Lord's purpose in directing the course of history.

You will discover how Isaiah uses the imagery of Babylon to represent pride, rebellion, and every worldly power that sets itself against God. The hosts explore Lucifer's fall, the Day of the Lord, the burden placed upon each nation, Egypt's future conversion, Tyre's wealth, and the repeated invitation for people to trust the Lord instead of political alliances, military strength, or economic prosperity. They also connect Isaiah's prophecies with Nephi's teachings, the Book of Revelation, and the latter-day gathering of Israel, demonstrating that God's judgments always move toward redemption and restoration.

This conversation invites us to see Isaiah's prophecies through covenant eyes. Every warning points toward hope for those who turn to the Lord, and every judgment reminds us that God's kingdom will ultimately outlast every earthly empire. Isaiah teaches that Christ remains the true King over every nation, faithfully guiding history toward His promised redemption and inviting all people into His covenant family.
