My family joined the church when I was 2 years old. My childhood and young adult life was immersed in the LDS culture. I loved it but I didn’t like being a Mormon because the world laughed and mocked us so much. I wanted to fit into the world. So I quit going and I filled my life with worldly things and worldly activities. My children were both baptized in the church but they fell away and have no testimony. My first husband was not LDS and our marriage fell apart and then 10 years ago my sister who had been excommunicated in the 80’s was rebaptised. She was so changed. She was on fire with a crazy deep love for our Saviour. I never knew anyone could have the type of joy she was experiencing after the life she had lead. Her joy was affecting everyone around her including me. I found myself on my knees begging for redemption to take the stains of my sins. I found myself reading the Book of Mormon. Really studying. I fasted. My rebellious heart was replaced with a heart so full of love that I knew the world held nothing for me. The thing I wanted was to walk with the Lord. I wanted to remember Him every moment of every day and I wanted to do His will over my life. I wanted to carry His Love and His Message to those who would listen. I never wanted to be a Mormon but I love being a follower of Jesus. He is my Redeemer and my King. I owe my very soul to Him. If he can save me then He will save you too. He is in relentless pursuit of your heart and soul. Just turn to Him in humble prayer and ask Him to direct you. Find a copy of the Book of Mormon and read it and ask Him if it is true. Just ask with pure intent to know the truth. The truth is you are a child of beautiful God who truly loves you more than you will ever ever know.
I first heard this on my mission. Someone in one of the wards I was serving put it on a CD and gave it to me. And I cannot tell you how profound Glenn's story has been on me. God is SO GOOD and he is ALWAYS there for us in the way we need. I'm so glad Glenn is using his talents for building the Kingdom of God.
I love my Catholic Religion, I was a protestant but never felt comfortable being protestant. I finally converted to the Catholic Religion when I was 69 years old. I'm now 79 years old and feel like I came home and know so much more now than I ever did when I was a protestant. I, too, went through so much betrayal and chaos in my life. I have found peace and comfort in my religion and love going to mass and Holy Days. I only wish I would have converted back when I was in my 20's. Thanks for your testimony Glenn. I listen to your radio show with Stew and when you guys start laughing and making jokes it makes my day. You are both so darn genuine and caring. God Bless you Glenn and your wonderful family.
Listening to this the week after Charlie died. Glenn was on his show today and I came here. Charlie may not have been a member of our church, but he was a a true disciple of Christ and he embodied what it meant to be charitable and kind. Charlie was a Christlike person.
I appreciate your transparency and sharing your journey. Like you I was severely alcoholic and nearly died at the age of 38. A single mother of two young children. Although I have been raised catholic, I did not live a Christ exchange life. At 38 I surrendered literally everything in my life to Jesus Christ. I did not ask for him to make me not an alcoholic. I did not ask for anything, but simply surrendered everything to him and said from this point forward, I’m your girl. I did not know exactly what would happen but believed uncharted that whatever happened was for my good and his glory. He completely delivered me from alcohol and remove the threat of complete organ failure. I have lived my life following Christ as my Lord and Savior since Valentine’s Day 1994. I have been reunited with my son who I had given up for adoption at the age of 16. I am remarried. I have three adult children, eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. I did not die at 38 but was given the free gift to eternal life. I am 70 today. And eternally grateful that he saved a rich like me. God bless you, GLEN andyour journey.
Inactive for 30 years until I had nowhere to go except to my knees. Grateful for the Atonement. Grateful to be on the Covenant path. I cannot be moved. Grateful for a living Prophet, for the Seers and Revalators that our Heavenly Father has blessed us with. Thank you Brother Beck for your conversion story and testimony. ❤❤❤
Thank you, Glenn, for sharing your beautiful testimony. I joined when I was 19 and never looked back. 47 years later and I am blessed beyond belief with great joy. God is good (and very patient).
Thank you for sharing this magnificent journey and conversion to the Lord. I have listened to you for so many years and my favorite part is that you really ask questions and look for answers. My husband and I joined the church over forty years ago. He to expressed to the missionaries that if you say anything that I don’t believe I will ask you to leave. I have always loved you and now that I know your conversion story I know why! May Heavenly Father continue to prove to you and to all of us that he will keep his promises and that is son , Jesus really atoned and died for each of us.❤
Glenn had me both laughing and crying. I love that man. The amazing, smiling plastic man was my basketball coach in Argentina as I was growing up. My family brought him and his fiancé into the Church at the time. Their story is also miraculous. I love how Glenn begins, about his belief that God had always been stalking him. I believe God is stalking all of us, in the best of ways, of course. God is always so good to His children, whether deserving or not. :-)
Wow I am so grateful I listened to this. Thank you for being real and sharing this. I laughed, I cried, I felt so good. You blessed my life today, as you bless many. Thank you again.
