I just realized how cumbersome those elite helmets look. Higher rank comes with higher neck pain.

Could you do a unsc version of this, I know there isn't much compared to the covenant, but it would still be cool to see.

Grunts, to everyone: Am I joke to you?
Everyone: Yes

Man dismissive is an understatement. Hunters will just walk over and crush other covenant without even interrupting their stride.

I had no idea the Yanme'e were that large. Jesus can you imagine a 200lb 6' tall roach flying towards you?

“The only other rank we’ve seen is that of the ranger commander.”

You mean, Bob?

20:49 : When one lekgold dies, the other goes berserk
20:50 : Shows the other hunter sneaking for escape

The Brutes' rank structure is the most confusing IMO. Their armour is so damn similar in colour & appearance that I literally cannot tell them apart.
They're either blue or yellow. Tehe only rank I could separate was the Chieften.

You forgot to include that Xytan ‘Jar Wattinree was 11’6, towering over literally all elites

21:25 I have an ODST guide book and it has a paragraph on gold hunters “Recent combat has revealed gold-armored variants in addition to the usual dark blue of a hunters armor, which while visually impressive, doesn’t see to yield any additional benefits to the Hunters already awe-I pairing combat prowess. Golden hunters attack with fuel rod shots, while blue hunters fire streaks of energy; both are equally damaging.”

20:47
"When one dies, the other will go beserk"
Cue hunter dying while the other goes sneaky sneaky crouch walky

My monkey brain went and read the thumbnail as "Pranks of the Covenant", and though I'm still fascinated by what's here, I made myself a bit sad that I didn't get to find out how the Sangheili handle April Fools.

1:32       Unggoy       Grunts
7:32       Kig-Yar.        Jackals/Skirmishers
14:11     Yanme’e.     Drones
17:09     Huragok.     Engineer
18:46     Lekgolo.      Hunters
22:09     Jiralhanae.  Brutes
32:25     Sangheli.      Elite
48:41     San’shyuum Prophets

I tried my best lining up the words, sorry if you have OCD

Dang now I wanna play Halo: Among Other Media

The golden armor in Halo 3 odst is (what I believe) a queen colony. They shoot different kinds of rounds as the standard Mgalekgolo shoots a fine beam consisting of around 2-3 seconds long, while the golden Mgalekgolo shots individual canon rounds, similar to that of a fuel rod cannon. Also I believe that “she” is slightly Healthier and buff-ier on harder difficulty’s

I know these ranks were made almost entirely for gameplay rather than lore purposes, but I always thought it was weird there were no designated pilot classes. I can envision Grunts and Elites that would be given special training to be vehicle and aircraft pilots, and have their own special armor and gear to go along with it.

Also on that note, it is a bit funny how Grunts can pilot some vehicles like Ghosts, but Jackals are never seen in the games piloting or driving anything. Is there a lore explanation for this? Maybe since the Jackals are essentially just pirates and mercenaries, the upper Covenant caste never trusted them with the keys to any expensive hardware.

36:53 don't think I didn't see those plasma throws lmao

Halo 101
Grunts: kids on methane
Jackals: pirates
Sangheili: dinosaur bois
Brutes: donkey kongs of halo
Hunters: sir(s) worm guts
Drones: flying roaches

Bro, drones are terrifyingly big

21:22 the gold colored hunter is a veteran hunter which is why they use the older style cannon
