I will update this pinned comment with any new discoveries I make or that others indicate I may have over looked.

Addendum #1: while playing Halo 2, a brute said to me “I’ve had ticks that had more bite than you”, confirming that the jiralhanae also have blood sucking parasites in their biosphere.

Addendum #2: according to Shadow of Intent (the story, not the ship) the Sangheili have their own version of sea urchins

Addendum #3: Loosel just pointed out to me that I accidentally mentioned Gatts twice. Once at 01:19:54 and another at 01:28:23. Damn you, Gatt.

Addendum #4: Once again, Loosel has pointed out that I forgot about a variant of Huragok. As I mentioned in the video, the engineers were built by the forerunners but they actually came in two distinct varieties. The ones we see in game, which are far more common and the extremely rare lifeworker variant. These Huragok were designed to operate on living tissue, essentially serving the role of a doctor. Visually, they’re much smaller than the other kind of engineer. They also lack most of the bioluminescence seen within the standard variant and are green instead of blue. They possess additional limbs as well, one of which seems to function as a biological flashlight.

Addendum #5: Hornbill's pictured at 01:31:45 are 100% canon and aren't even cut content. They appear in the very beginning of the mission Sierra 117 at the start of Halo 3's campaign.

Addendum #6: I just discovered an additional proto-human mentioned literally one time in Cryptum. They're called B'ashamanune and are said to have lived in equatorial grasslands. They frequently made use of trees to hide from predators, were thin, quite graceful and capable of building rudimentary cities. It's unclear which specific species of proto-human they're based on but according to Greg Bear, the author of the Forerunner trilogy, they were most likely Australopithecus.

This is INSANE. I obsess over Halo lore, but you’ve tackled a number of creatures I could never even think to assume have appeared in the franchise. If only other Halo lore channels did quite as much research as you do. This deserves so many more views.

The Unggoy are one of my favorites, they are little fellas with big hearts
(and almost destroyed the Covenant that one time)

15:00 YESSS YESSSSS!!!! YEAHHH!!!

I’m so obsessed over halo lore and the dedication is insane. So underrated😢

"This" is pretty cool/weird looking, as is "That" and "These".

When you said the Sharquoi resembled monsters from another universe, I thought you were going to say the Drinniol from Marathon, haha

Prophets riding plant-horses into battle is NOT something I knew I wanted. Also I never wanna hear anything referred to as “fleshy lily pads” ever again. Also the Sharquoi totally need to be added to the next Halo game in the series. Also Lekgolo are my favorite species in all of Halo. Also there’s a giant creature that was supposed to used by the Banished and fought as a mini boss in Halo Infinite but was cut from the game that you didn’t mention.

This is super cool. Very nicely done.

Awesome video my man! I wish halo could make a small short documentary on some of their species

1:22:22 I love this description

The fact that the flood can simply release spores into the air and infect all living beings is overpowered, I thought the little buggers were what were necessary to infect

1:00:56 Moas were a real species of flightless birds that lived on the North and South Islands of New Zealand. They were hunted to extinction in the 1400’s I believe.

This video is fire asf. Keep it up!

Fantastic work! I have not seen the entire video but I can already tell this is one of the most concise and efficient videos regarding the lore and beyond. Newcomers and veterans alike would benefit from this video. Undoubtedly in the top Halo lore videos ever made.

Underrated video

This video is fantastic.
Exemplary work.
