This horse is a war hero

Yes, Micheal Caine the actor did in fact serve in the Korean war!

7:45 That is FAST. Only 8 shots to get used to the sound of cannons for an adult horse? Conditioning horses to way less scary stuff than that usually takes way longer, Reckless must've been a super chill horse.

Yes, actor Michael Caine, whose real name is Maurice Joseph Micklewhite, served in the British Army during the Korean War, arriving in Korea in 1952 and fighting against Chinese and North Korean forces.

Beer for my horses is a fitting song here lol

His video on Virginia Hall is amazing. The greatest spy you've never heard of...

Thanks for getting to this one! More people need to know this story

Fat Electrician Korean War short (4:00): "The Great SeaBee Train Robbery"

The Fat Electrician does amazing storytelling, and incredible research.

The limping lady is one of my favorite Fat Electrician videos. I'd love to see your reaction to that one.

My dog hasn't saved my life but I’d never leave her behind either

34:00   That reminds me. There were two horses in a race and their names were "Who You Gonna Call"  and "We Don't Know."  During the race they were neck and neck, and the announcer called out their names over and over one after the other because the race was so tight.   "Who You Gonna Call." "We Don't Know." ...  "Who You Gonna Call." "We Don't Know." ...  "Who You Gonna Call." "We Don't Know."  ...  "Who You Gonna Call." "We Don't Know."     It was hilarious.  Hmm, it's probably on youtube.    😃 3-)

This is exactly why horses are one of the greatest things ever

Loved this video, also liked that you got emotional about it - it definitely was an emotional roller-coaster. His channel is really good too.

☺️ 13:41 very wholesome you are

I was a M.A.S.H. fan as a kid, and was stationed on the same base as the 24th MASH (previously the 4077th) during the 90's in Korea. The doormats leading to the main entrance still read "4077TH MASH Best Care Anywhere". They saved me when I had pneumonia, and a temperature of 103.

you actually contribute information to his story dont stop. I am subscribing

Since you've already watched Fat Electrician's video on the Berlin Airlift, you should definitely watch his sequel to that video about the Berlin Wall.

And oh, OIF/OEF vet here, USMC as I said earlier, been there done that, in modern times. Seen and did some shit, and this story gets me eyes a little misty, everytime. As this is only the high lights, or maybe lowlights, of how bad it can get, with the full story, overall correct, but some of the details and battles involved are truly horrifying to most. This is just a brief overview of actions. Doesn’t cover the hand to hand fighting to the end, and Marines dying with piles of bodies infront of them, and all around, as they ran out of ammo, grenades, lost or broke weapons in close quarters combat, and resorted to using enemy weapons and gear or their pistol, running out of ammo. Bayonets, knives, entrenching tools, mortar base plates as weapons, rocks. Etc. and being shot and stabbed to death, while still killing and injuring the enemy on hand to hand combat.  And much like WWII piling so high at times their bodies interfered with fields of fire. The battle he talked about mainly was a battalions worth of Marines, with supports that caused over 4k dead and wounded enemies. They took out over 10:1 enemies, so badly the enemy withdrew. And left hundreds still operational on our side, which means in reality they did 20:1 to 40:1 casualties to the Chinese. We stomped them flat, and not for the first time, the first time was the boxer rebellion in the late 1890’s.
