RIP Mark Wildman — a remarkable servant of both billiards and snooker.

Saw Wildman play live at the Preston Guild Hall in 1985.  World Championship qualifiers.  Wildman waved at my father and I as we were the only ones watching his match.  Joe Johnson was on the next table playing Geoff Foulds.

THIS IS A CLASIC INDEED.TAKES ME BACK TO THE HAZY DAYS OF THE EIGHTIES AS A TEENAGER .

I used to see Mark at the Court snooker club in Peterborough all the time. I recall him coaching someone who worked at Freemans. Always a gentleman to talk to.

What a great upload.  Love seeing the old characters from the past.

2 very talented players - pleasure to watch

Exquisite brush canon off brown at 3.30 (after weighing it up for a minute) shows his billiards skill...

And I've found out today that Silvino died on the 14th Dec. I didn't see this on social media or any news channels either, his death wasn't publicised much.

He was better known as a billiards player wasn't  he - i remember him as a very good commentator as well - kind of makes you think how more and more of the players of the 70's and 80's are passing away as the years move along - RIP Mark

Woops didn't realise mark had passed away lovely man he was

Rip mark

Thanks for uploading this only knew Mark Wildman as a commentator and billiards player

My Nan was there, thats her whistling a good shot at 2:17

MARK WAS A GOOD COMENTETOR .MABEY THE BEST OF THE ITV LOT ID SAY.SOME OF THE SHOTS THERE HE PUT IN ARE LIKE JUDD TRUMP TODAY.GREAT STUFF.

Great slacks!

Awww I was wanting to see Hallet versus Knowles afterwards

Thank you for this.

With the exception of the first staging of the Masters in 1975, I believe Mark holds the distinction as the *second-oldest player to make his debut in that event - during this season, aged 47. A great all-round player. (*Yes, I am an idiot, of course it was good old Cliff Wilson! Sorry Cliff!)

Wow, didn't realise he was that old-he was pushing 50 here.

I remember the headline in a report on Francisco getting caught smuggling: "Pot black, and whatever else he could fit into his suitcase"😆
