Cliff was the original Whirlwind. He terrorised the opposition at Burroughes Hall when he was in his early 20’s. If only there’d been the opportunity to progress to the professional game at that time, the record books may well have read so differently. Make no mistake, the original Cliff Wilson was the real deal.

Old Cliff was a quality player. His motto was either I pot them or you do but let’s get on with it. RIP.

Nice to hear Whispering Ted in the commentary. RIP Ted.

If Cliff had been at his best this would have been one hell of a match!

Cliff once described himself as the Best Potter in the dark!!! Talented guy natural talent and played without a care in the world!! RIP Cliff!!!

Great player Cliff Wilson! He famously beat Ronnie O'Sullivan 9-8 in the Uk-championship later that year i think from 4-1 down..

Cliff was a great player in his day, lovely to watch.

Cliff Wilson had the appearance of a Mafia Henchman, who had a couple  of bodies in the boot of his car . . We'll never know how good he was early on in his career . But the contracts  ,must have provided him with a living  . Absolutely terrifying.

Used to love watching Cliff back in the day, a fast and exciting player, legend!

I'd never realised what an awesome player Cliff was!

Crazy to think that even in late 1992 you could even smoke in the arena. Seems like another world compared to now.

Cliff was a great long potter. Lovely smooth action.

Cliff was my favourite player of all time. It's a shame we never saw him at his best on television but his numerous health problems had taken their toll & two years after this  match he would no longer be with us.

Cliff made his first century break 1 month after taking the game up.

More Cliff Wilson, if you have the material! Thanks for the upload!

Ted Lowe....all class, never pretended to know more than the great players that he presented to the world in only positive lights

If Cliff had continued playing in the 60’s and turned pro he would have won two or three world titles. He was a great player.

What a guy Wilson was so happy like to see that
And Jimmy my favourite should of been World champ 92 94
But doesn’t have any regrets there’s worse things in life he says.
Great Man

The state of Jimmy's break-off in the first frame 😆

1990's classic match, there was some great break builders in this great period. I heard of Cliff Wilson, just inspired by his story. Jimmy was one of the best players of 90's, great match thanks for the upload. Good commentary has well
