Craig Y Nos Castle is said to be one of the most haunted hotels in Wales, if not the UK. I spent one night there, which turned out to be a night alone in the hotel. I was in Room 36, which is said to be the most haunted in the castle

The castle is actually a 19th-century country house built in a Gothic Revival style. It sits in the upper Swansea valley on the edge of the Brecon Beacons (Bannau Brycheiniog) National Park and was once owned by 19th-century opera singer Adelina Patti. She is said to be one of the ghosts!
Patti died in 1919, and the house became a TB hospital mainly treating children and young women.

A big part of the upper levels are still derelict and have the lamps from when it was a TB hospital. Also there was a morgue on the premises which was located near the rear by the "nurses quarters".
The setting is lovely and we did have the Wedding ceremony in the Grade 1 listed hall, that was followed by a wonderful Choir recital from the Ynysowen Male voice, who came from Aberfan, Adelina Patti would have appreciated 😊
The castle is beautiful. I would stay there overnight… Sure I get creeped out from time to time, but I think it would be worth it.
I love hotels, motels, B&B’s, etc., with some history to them.
