It's sad on so many levels. What comes through is loneliness. It's clear you now have someone you can be totally honest with and who doesn't judge you. However, sometimes, we have to look inwards when all else fails. Nobody else puts the glass to our mouth, and as you know....you won't find your answers in a bottle. It's a complete waste of time and money. Count your blessings. Look at you now.😊
There's a quote "Yesterday's history, tomorrow's a mystery." So after I embarked on my sober journey, I had to abandon the vague, long-term notion of "living up to my potential" as a measurement of achievement. At first, it was one day at a time, even one hour at a time. I eventually learned to acknowledge the real success of going to sleep sober and waking up ready for another day. ❤
Hi Steve, last night I found out my son had been fired from his HGV job of 18 years for turning up to work at 6 am drunk. His boss offered him the possibility of installing a breath test in his truck but he refused. He found another driving job on Monday and was stopped by the police in his truck at 4 times the limit. Spent 36 hours in a prison cell and was sent home without his licence. He has no income, no job, a big mortgage, a loving wife, 2 kids. How can I help him since he seems to not be able to help himself!
