I really pleased that you managed to make life work for you. Thank God it isn’t a terminal illness anymore. A hard story to tell but good on you for sharing your lived experiences. Take care and keep fighting!
wow! you are such a strong and incredible woman. Thanks for having the courage to share your story. PS: the moment you mentioned the guy kept on saying you're infected, immediately I knew he's the one infected with hiv - what an vile evil human
The 90s/ early 2000s was a scary time re HIV in South Africa, but now - if responding well on meds - you're likely to have far less complications than you would with Diabetes. Stigma still there but thankfully it's a different world. Glad you're doing well and chasing your goals 🙌
He already knew he had it and spread it to you. That’s why he kept saying “you had aids”, projecting on you. You were young, vulnerable and too trusting. That’s why it’s so, important to get tested together with every new partner.
So proud of you Rachel, a true inspiration. I'm glad you were brave enough to share your story. Your strength comes through the screen, thanks for sharing. Love and respect to you ❤ xx
The story of how I got infected, it’s not how most people think either.
