I think it's the most underrated camera Canon ever made. It was really ignored at launch because it was far from class-leading technology. Time has proved that it's image quality, and easy of use, make it more relevant than some of those "better" cameras at the time. I have a 5D also and I think the 6D is everything the 5D is, but with just enough modern tech, and handling improvements, to make it a better camera. I use the 5D for personal fun but the 6D is still a perfectly viable Pro Wedding camera. I have a modern R6 mk2, which is science fiction technology, but it's not as nice to shoot as the 6D. There's so much going on in the viewfinder on the R6. The 6D had everything you need, but no more than you need. Great cameras. Put a 40mm f/2.8 "Pancake" on it for a superb Street Camera.
I have a 5Diii, 5DSR, 80D and Nikon Z6. I recently sold the Z6 after using purely Nikon for, dunno, 5 years and went back to a DSLR as I much prefer the OVF and actually looking at my subject instead of a mini screen. I bought the 6D a few months ago for £200, 80k shutter count and in very good condition. The 6D has become my main camera for landscapes. It's DR is better than the 5Diii, a little behind the 80D and prolly a bit better than the 5DSR. It is smaller and lighter than the 5D cameras and slightly larger and heavier than the 80D. So slight you prolly won't notice it. The 6D has better colour files than the 80D. As such I have now sold the 80D, retired the 5Diii and only use the 5DSR for BIF. The AF system is basic and I only use the centre focus point and recompose. This is actually faster than using a joystick to navigate the 61 focus points on the 5Diii/5DSR. The DR is plenty good enough for my landscape photos here in the UK. Oh, the high ISO performance is very, very good. It's a gem of a small full frame camera.
I really like the photos your showing mate. They have a beautiful subtle rendering to them also but more importantly they are great shots you have taken. Love the one with the 3 women on the street. Looks absolutely classic! I'm getting the camera now as of what you have shown me what it can do in very capable hands. I also absolutely love the red flowers at 3:00. Thanks for the video!
I bought one 2 months ago. It is a great camera. It is all you need to take pics as a half decent photographer. There is no need for comparisons. If it suits your purpose. I also use it for live streaming.
i got my 6d + 24-80 kitlens for 150$ too XD (SC:250k)
i mostly stay at f/8 , so lens still sharp enough for me best thing is that it have wifi as my 2nd monitor best budget full frame camera deal ever and this is my first camera btw, love it <3
glad seeing someone still excited for 6D like i does too my brother keep mocking me for not picking mirroless but i hate mirroless overheating & EVF
Nice one! I've used the 6D a few times, mostly for video it still delivers today. I have a 7D mark I, and while its heavier and older, I still love owning that camera.
I have both the 5d and the 6d. I think 6d is much more snappy and useful, for example at pro work, where the 5d just can't be used becaue it is too slow. However, in terms of colors, I prefer the 5d. The 6d looks very vibrant, but has no personality. The color shifting and the difference to 'normal' colors is what makes the 5d so special.
Canon 6D just might be the perfect camera (for me)
too many cameras
