omg i keep thinking "i wanna journal but it looks ugly or i can't get it to look aesthetic", thank you for saying "just start".

I love yours! Something I do with mine is I use a multi pen and write each category in its designated color! Like purple for drawing, for example. I find it’s a lot easier and faster to use on the go!

I agree that the terminology of what is or is not a "common place" book. However, there is one type of book/journal that nullifies the confusing terminology and that is "zibaldone." Zibaldone is (I think) an Italian word meaning "a heap of things." A "zibaldone" is sometimes referred to as a "jack of all trades and master of none" book. Rather than use multiple "common place" books: a "zibaldone" contain anything and everything. A word of caution though: like the Grail Method, do not include todo lists, planner spreads, or trackers in it as those are irrelevant the moment the hour, days, week, etc have passed. The exception might be something regarding a project. Recording what materials you used, where you got them from, the price, and documenting the steps you took so you have a reference to do it again.

I love your journal… I agree just start! So far all the commonplace creator videos I’ve watched I have absolutely loved everyone’s book… including yours… I think it’s very pleasing, pretty and aesthetically you! Thank you for sharing 😊

Good on you for do commonplace your way. I do. My commonplace book my Rules. 😊✨

My planner is my version of a commonplace and journal and brain dump and calendar and to do list all in one.

I just found you tonight, I LOVE your take on the notebook and you are so right! Your book, your rules!! GREAT JOB!!

This is my first time hearing about a commonplace book and hoo boy amd I about to go down a rabbithole because this just sounds like an infodumping journal which is 1000 percent my vibe

your books and videos are fantastic, subscribed! I love how many of us in the journalling community have ADHD, hearing people talk about hacking brains that work like mine so often is very validating and comforting 😅

Great ideas! I’m loving the corresponding stickers. Small request, if possible? Would you mind scooting your books up a tad, so those of us who use captions can see both the beautiful journals you’re creating and the captions? Thank you for all of your wonderful ideas, I’m loving your channel and your creativity! ❤

Girl be kind to yourself your writing is just fine! And no artist starts out talented ❤

THANK YOU FOR SHARING ABOUT THE STICKER BOOK! I've just started my own commonplace journal as well with the same dilemma of wanting it to look aesthetic but failing lol
This is 100% the type of sticker book I've been trying to find, thank you! <3

This is the most accessible video I watched on commonplace books. Thank you for sharing the how AND they why you are doing it your way. I love what you're doing and you've given me some great ideas.

i didn't know what a commonplace book was until i came across this video. i said to myself "this is basically a book of shadows." and then you said it!!

I think it's very aesthetic and beautiful, genuinely

the nails!!!!!😍

It's really nice, well done for starting it for yourself. I'd suggest to also note down your source!  Ie if you're quoting the source or freewriting yourself, and what book or url you're using as your fact source. It's a commonplace practice yes, but it's also great if you want to go back and check something later.

I have been starting to get into a common place journal just for my everyday thoughts since I feel like writing in a journal as a diary is more ceremonial… and it’s been really good! It’s a place for me to just throw things in that isn’t my Notes app and it’s so interesting to look back on things and even respond to my own notes with follow ups or even seeing how some pages are just doodles because it’s a stress relief. Definitely starting off with no plan like this has made me realize that common place notebooks are SO necessary for my brain.

It's so nice to find someone making videos from Australia :) I love your commonplace. I also got the blue sticker book and it has helped me with my journaling too!
