4. Wearing nice clothes at home
5. Being disgustingly educated
6. Speaking slowly and mindfully

One of the things that i find really chic is being whimsical and silly because it takes so much work to detach from other people’s judgments and keep your child-like wonder and curiosity.i think it’s truly chic and charming.

“Be chic without trying” but the fact that we watch this video is trying😂😂

One thing that's chic for me is watching YouTube; I feel like it's a completely different vibe.

Speaking a foreigner language, liking classical music, reading and mastering something specific like knowing about perfumes or coffee

this is actually so capitalistic coded frying me a little, in the end all trying to be the same one girl even that öne girl"is meant to be different, and we are trying so hard to be the same different girl

one of the things i find rlly chic is finding meaning in ordinary things : like the way a cup of tea can calm you, a walk that can clear your mind,  a page in your diary that holds a piece of your soul or even taking yourself to vintage art galleries...these ordinary rituals are like anchors; they remind us that beauty and chic doesn’t have to be loud or extravagance to be sacred

I love how non of this is what chic is. it is all just a routine/basic style

It is truly insightful to frame the idea of chic as something confined to a purely physical and aesthetic level. This video is interesting because it shows how little we care about being chic, and how much we focus instead on simply appearing chic—showing it off. The handbag, the perfume, the makeup, the skincare, the posture, the composure. But we must be careful: the line between authenticity and mere display is very thin. Education, respect, good manners, common sense, elegance, culture, and above all eloquence—these are the qualities that could make even a farmer chic. It is not about bags, shoes, or designer clothes. That is why being chic is so difficult. It is made of inner qualities that only later reflect in the image we show to the world, giving us a timeless elegance. So, after this video appeared on my feed, I feel like leaving one honest piece of advice: forget about social media, forget about appearances, and focus on real connections, experiences, and your cultural growth. Chic will then come naturally.

this video represents what the internet thinks is 'chic'. chicness to me is defying social media norms.

wait i love how personal this is it feels like a girls night

Most of these things make sense, but some kinda make me think that the word “chic” has lost its meaning from how much people overuse it lately. For example: Maybe I’m missing something, but I don’t really see how ordering a Diet Coke specifically is chic. The drink itself is not chic, so is it just the fact that it’s associated with being healthy/ skinny as opposed to normal coke?

Something that’s always important to remember, especially with how many people do these things in a performative way (not saying you do!), which often leads to more fast- fashion overconsumption and waste, is that authenticity is THE chicest thing. Sometimes I can just tell when someone is doing/ wearing something because it’s trendy, not because they actually like it.

The most “chic” and authentic person I ever met was a girl in my Highschool. She literally never had a phone and therefore no social media to influence and pressure her (she still doesn’t have a phone now at 19). I was always so impressed by how true to herself she was compared to everyone else. She NEVER once wore a “trendy” piece of clothing or makeup. It was funny, because I often think to myself how she doesn’t even KNOW some influencers would kill for her authentic style, since she never had and social media.
