Personally, I think that they had this idea about a movie, but they realized that nobody would go and watch it because it was 2019 and people only cared about superhero movies, so they decided to disguise the movie under the Joker persona in order to draw more people in theaters.
Because, let's be honest, if the movie wasn't about a character named Joker, nobody would go and watch it.
They tricked us and it worked pretty well. Their mistake was they made a sequel, instead of leaving it as a standalone film.

the thing is, arthur didnt just have “one bad day” he had an incredibly shit life in poverty full of abuse. lets also not forget that he was incredibly mentally ill, and so was his mother

This film is one of the rare films where it didn't need a sequel

the  ''we live in a society '' meme  starts with George Constanza

His laughing disorder is due to a head trauma.  I remember this because it adds a layer that makes his mother the worst villain of the movie even though it happens offscreen.

The penguin is how you make a villain a actual villain

I liked the movie but never thought of it as a representation of The Joker.

Joker went to the Murray to off himself. The audience and Murray made him decide to fight back.

There's a thing called a multiverse in DC comics. That's how I view this Joker version, from a parallel universe.

The collared shirt and body armor is such a smart look.

Batman Beyond Terminal as the main villain in a movie , would be cool if they used Phoenix Joker as inspiration

The thing about joker is the city itself is the villain.  His life is a tragedy because there's nowhere in the city that gives him sanctuary except his imagination

Yeah, the second movie retconned the entire ENDING of the first film.  He tore that nurse apart .  It was supposed to be a moral lecture like 'Yeah, you were cheering when he started killing people are you cheering now?!'

But the second film never mentions it and detractors claim 'the murder was all in his head'.

It was obvious he wasn't the Joker because he was 40 years older than Bruce Wayne.

He’s not the real Joker. He most likely inspired the real joker that fights Batman later on.

The Joker as a character is supposed to be a very very ingenious and intelligent man that's literally insane.

Maybe the real Joker is us by not seeing what a tragedy Joker 2 was going to be

I used to say this back in 2019 but all my friends said that i just had no taste

Red hood point the best, the joker wants us to believe he is more crazy than he actually is.

ZAFFY vs 1 bad day
