Good evening from rural Japan 🌾

I'm Hana, 24, living alone in the Japanese countryside and working my first year as a researcher at a manufacturer. This is my payday vlog: I lay out my whole paycheck in cash, write my budget by hand in a notebook, and show you where my money goes.

This month, my take-home pay was 236,000 yen (about $1,490 / €1,330). After rent, my student loan, savings, investing, and everything else, I had 29,000 yen (about $180 / €160) left.

As a little reward for working hard, I walked to the convenience store late at night and found half-price custard éclairs for just 161 yen (about $1 / €0.90). And since I can't get to the supermarket very often, I order things like soy milk online.

This one is quite late, but it's about my pay for August.
