Ben Patter. These pilots not only assessed and got basic control, just getting seats adjusted, restarting, seatbelts, finding the headsets and getting them untangled and etc then learning what systems were and were not functioning,  flying without rudder, communicating with atc etc.
These guys did an amazing job of saving this flight.

Finally someone gave credit to the pilots that actually got the plane safely on the ground.  So far it seems like they have been mentioned in passing.  What they did was nothing short of incredible.

I have waited for this podcast and ignored earlier media reports. Thanks for making it worth the wait.

It was a nonlethal incident, but it was about as close to disaster as you can get without having a disaster.

Please give Boeing the credit due for building this resilient airplane.

The events that took place are like the reverse Swiss Cheese Modell, everything that needed to go right went right.

Also as a Swiss I have to add that most of our cheeses don’t have holes in them.

If your hearing 50 30 40 from the front toilet. You're in the wrong place!

How about a shout out for the toughness of the 737

Man, I hadn't even considered the fact that the passengers would have no reason to trust any of the remaining crew members, and especially the "miraculous" appearance of two pilots.  Like you said, so many things could have gone horribly wrong.  And I loved the paper airplane analogy, by the way - this puts the behavior of aircraft into something that the common person can easily relate to and understand.

This is an incredible account of what happened on this plane. I am a retired F/A living in a remote area of the Pacific Northwest. Do not have TV service but vaguely saw this news and sought it out. You Teo do such a thorough job of covering the complexities of aeronautics! Thanks for keeping all of us well educated! ✈️❤✌️

I want to hear from the deadheading pilots that recovered the aircraft and landed the heavily damaged airplane safely.

We have been learning how to use controls of an aircraft mainly from MENTOR PILOT SHOWS.

I like miracle, but if you must, Reverse Swiss Cheese model also works:
-Passenger happens to hear fight
-Passengers gather by door
-Captain uses last breath of consciousness to open door
-Passengers choke out the extremist FO
-Plummer pulls back the yoke
-Deadheading crew happens to be on board
-Plane survives 3+ Gs of forces.

Thank you for this. Just a small correction, it was apparently the woman's young daughter who originally heard the noises and alerted her mother, who alerted everybody else.

I've heard it said: fiction has to make sense, reality doesn't care

According to one passengers recount, one of the deadheading pilots immediately jumped into action and got in cockpit but the other one was standing in first class area in what appeared to be in shock, for a few minutes before he was able snap out of it and enter the cockpit. So from this passengers account, it was only 1 pilot initially taking over control of the cockpit for what he said seemed like 5-7 mins. This account lines up with what the plumber said when he said one pilot took over the controls and told him he’ll take over control of plane. The plumber mentioned 1 pilot, not 2. If this turns out to be true, 1 pilot handling this situation alone initially would make this pilot an even bigger rockstar!

“We’re pretty sure that there’s more to this story” - understatement of the century 😂

It's refreshing to hear these points discussed by people who actually know what they are talking about. I am absolutely appalled at the fear mongering that passes as journalism these days and the incredible amount of misinformation being spread online as well as on several news channels. Thank you for your work!

Dear sirs, my British young cousin just started flying as an official first Officer  on a very large passenger plane. His Captain and he never got any info  about the Fly Dubai drama as it was going on. Only after they had landed somewhere in Europe and the Dubai plane had just landed in TLV, they were informed and shocked. I sent him one of your first videos immediatly, because you had the most important info for him and his Captain in good English. Thank you.   👍🌷🌷🌷  (Holland)

So relieved to hear Pilots Speaking talk about FlyDubai and put the incident in perspective. Thank you. I have been frustrated and aggravated by all the “false flag” rhetoric out there. I’ve spent time thinking about what can be done or what is being done to prevent this from happening again. I have made a decision to only watch the Mentour brands content. Petter and Ben have integrity and I trust them
