People are too damn competitive. If someone being healthier makes you lose your mind, you are just dumb, petty and unhappy with yourself.

my family always mocked or cursed me for being overweight, but when i lost weight they would say that i was too skinny and would ask me to eat more. when i gained weight after a long depression period and intense anxiety bc of the university, they started to humilliate me again, it hurt so much because they're obese and are always shaming my body.

I'm a tall woman, naturally thicker. Curvy. I had a good friend years ago who was petite and a size 0. We hung out for years and one night at a club it came out she was upset that guys where talking to me and when did i get to be hot? She was legit mad and I had done nothing but treat her well and hook her up with guys she liked. We fell out behind it. This was twenty years ago.

They pretend that they haven’t noticed anything. This happened to a relative. She was overweight for a while. She lost 20 kilograms and looked thin. Her jealous colleagues stayed quiet. Then only one of them complimented saying wow you’ve lost a lot of weight. What did you do? The quiet jealous colleagues looked out of place

I had a “good” friend crash out on me hard when I got pregnant before her when she tried to get pregnant for a while before I started my journey. There are so many things that are difficult to control like weight and pregnancy where once you succeed they just hate you for it. Unfortunately she’s my cousin so I still see her at parties but I keep an arm’s length from her every chance I can. Some snakes don’t bite until you are on their terf.

Do it in your 50's. We are all going through menopause and we all gained weight and were all complaining. I decided I didn’t want that anymore, and chose to change my lifestyle. I now weigh the same again as when I was 25. Some people struggle with that.

I came here to say, yes absolutely DO lose the weight. As well as becoming slimmer, fitter & happier, you will become so much more confident and motivated in yourself and going clothes especially jeans shopping is going to be and feel wonderful so don’t stop ladies (& gents) l am a personal trainer and l am so happy when my girls reach their goals 🎉🎉
& it isn’t easy but just be consistent with eating & the weight will drop ❤

There are those who pretend that they haven't noticed your significant weight loss. Years ago my sister was heavier for years. Then she lost a significant amount of weight. Her jealous colleagues didn't say a word. One of them said it out loud 'wow you're looking so slim these days' in front of them and they felt uncomfortable. I myself have lost 7 kilograms in the last few months. I'm in the fat burning stage, weight training, calorie deficit, higher protein and fibre. Some people who know me for years pretend they don't notice my weight loss and I was never really that big. I know as my face isn't puffy anymore and clothes fit way better than before. 1 or 2 people told me my arms look leaner. Everyone else is silent as they simply stare at me like a ghost when I wear fitted clothing

When I was the chubby kid, I had so many friends and I was really extroverted. After I was diagnosed with anorexia at 13 I had zero friendships and became introverted as an adult till this day. Thankfully I recovered from my eating disorder. I try to take good care of my mental health and physical body, and have good relationship with food and gained some weight and I look fit and healthy but still I feel like people don’t like talking to me and I can’t make friendships or be in a romantic relationship. I don’t know if it has to do with the way I look, unapproachable or do I take myself too seriously or is part of me looking good and feeling myself? I sometimes feel like I scared people away lol. Well is a win win for me because I am pretty introverted and like spending time to myself.

Lucky enough I don’t have friends so no drama that side. But my relatives? …some I can see that they are shocked that I finally lost the weight because they saw me try to lose.

Neighbours didn’t even say anything about my weight loss but before they used to comment about my weight 😂

I used to be the chubby girl in class, and at 14 I became anorexic, constantly complaining that I wanted to lose more weight even though I weighed 42 kg (it's 92 pounds) (below normal for a woman slightly above average height). They complimented me, and that only made my problem worse: "You could be a model," "Don't lose any more weight, you're already good as you are, don't gain any more either." And so, my new friends, whom I'd known for less than a year, seemed a little strange when I kept saying I loved exercise, and over time I recovered somewhat from my problem and gained weight. I don't know if it was something mental, but they seemed more fulfilled seeing that I wasn't thinner than them now (not all of them seemed that way).

Setting out to lose weight and obtaining that goal is called success. Anytime you achieve a goal ,which is success, the people that have been around you before that achievement are not gonna like it! That goes for any goal that you achieve including weight loss, getting a degree, becoming buff etc. It’s really not the weight loss that drives people away and get them to start acting differently. It’s the fact that you succeeded in something which brings to surface their inadequacy and narcissism.
