I built my cabin for cash with very little help.
I saved 10s of thousands. I put it in the dry, then finished the bedroom, moved in. Then I did my celling and then the liveingroom. Finishing one room at a time..
It is a pretty comfortable place. In the summer I have hot and cold running water with a shower and in the winter I melt snow. I’m in my 70s now and built a new home close to town.i still have the place and use it recreationally.
Somewhere there is a 45 year old who owns 10 acres and 2 houses in TN and is somewhere between living in a cabin and living in the city. I still go to work every day but I can check out at any time, sell or rent the big house, and be retired on my land. That is me.:) The orchard takes more work than they are showing here though. Some years you get nothing, some years there is so much. Then, the pears fall off and the dear come and you can eat them too.
