A friend rode Amtrak. Running late of course.
She spoke to the conductor, "how long until we get there? I'm going to have a baby."
The conductor replied, "you shouldn't have come on the train in that condition."
She said, "I didn't."

As a Brit, my impression was, Britain has a programme with commercials slotted in, and America has commercials with a programme slotted in. Had real trouble watching American T.V.

It's not that "he doesn't like" the apostrophes; it's that they are _wrong_. Correct spelling is not a matter of opinion.

I'm an Aussie who lived in  Columbus Ohio for 16 years. I remember when the outer suburbs like Powell went out of their way to exclude themselves from the Bus system so they weren't exposed to the Black Community.
They were also the first to complain that they couldn't get any access to any catering or in home service.
Completely ignorant of the fact they had cut themselves off from the people they need to make their lifestyles work. Hilarious 😂🤣

Brit here. I always remember my first visit. Was leaving JFK air port and the police with megaphone who screaming at cars ‘ MOVE YOUR F”””ING VEHICLE “ charming one thought hahaha.

In terms of quality of life, freedoms, transport. Uk every day off the week and three times in Sunday

Trains are the leading mode of medium distance travel for most people worldwide, except in the US and Canada. You used to have a good railway system, but the auto makers' lobby made your government fund your interstate roads and allow your rail infrastructure to rot. The UK doesn't have the best trains, but it does have amongst the best overall public transport network.

On the way to Australia, we changed planes in miami, and it was laughably horrendous.  Horrible staff and appauling security that was clearly only done for show.  Our hold bags were piled up in a communal corridor.  I had a keyring penknife in my handbag which wasn'tdiscovered. They checked our shoes, shouted at us, and rather than automatically transferring our hold luggage to the next flight, they thought letting the american public the opportunity to steal our baggage was better.

On the way back, we changed flights in Singapore.  Not only did we go for a swim on their airport roof top pool, showered, washed our hair, went to a free cinema and ate restaurant quality food in a canteen.  Charming staff.  I could have holidayed there.

Do you know most of the films he mentioned are actually made in the UK- Star Wars/Indian Jones/ James Bond/Mission Impossible. etc./

Star wars was made at Elstree studios UK

I prefer British Films. They have real stories and characters.

Americans do see British films: Harry Potter, James Bond, new wicked musical movie, mission impossible. Also many blockbusters had scenes filmed in uk E.g.  aquaman, Batman, spider man, captain America, Indiana Jones.

There should be no apostrophes on that sign.

On the non-existent walking culture in the US.  I'm from the UK and we took our children to Orlando when they were younger. We were staying not far from one of the Disney Parks so we decided to walk to it.  We weren't sure if we were going the right way so we stopped and asked some construction workers which direction we needed to go to get to the Disney Park.  I can still remember the look of shock and confusion on their faces when they realised we were walking there!! 😄

In U.K even suburbs have small convenience shops you can walk to😊

Just a point I think is important is that as a Brit I really don’t like being approached when I am shopping! If I need help I will ask for it!

My wife and I had a 4 night trip to New York  I found everyone very polite and very helpful   as we were on holiday we made sure to try not to get in people's way as they went about their daily routine 'as a foot note when we went into a coffee shop when they realised we were  british they were genuinely interested in taking the time to have a good chat 😂

Uk here, public transport...
I live far enough from a city for this to be called a nice little town.
But there is a bus to the city every 10 minutes from a bus stop 5 minutes away.
The train station is a 7 minute walk from the bus station but there will be taxis sat waiting if you really can't walk 7 minutes.
From there is a train every hour or so to London.
I can then catch the Eurostar to Paris (there's one every 30 minutes).
And I'll be there over two hours quicker than if I drove.
I live in the middle of England, it's 10am and I can catch one bus, and two trains and be in Paris by 5pm.

To me, London is a place I’ll never grow tired of. So many free museums and I can see big modern buildings and centuries old build all nestled together and looking like they’ve always been like that.
I like American and British films but British TV is much better.

Ironic. Even less chance of seeing a British film thanks to your illustrious leaders tariff offensive.
