Submitting an AI generated model to a series about fixing 3d models is crazy...

oh my god why is there so much ai images 😭😭

Yeah, I doubt the AI generator would take your advice. He probably just wants his AI creation fixed for free, but great work dude! You're an angel!!

classic ai user moment of thinking an artform is far easier than it is bc they dont know anything about the process. the worst handmade model is better than the best ai slop

You're a better man than me by helping the ai "artist" in the second example. IMO if he's unwilling to even try to model the character, it's all downhill from there.

"noo my ai image doesnt look like what i wanted TToTT I bet i can get someone to fix it for free!!" sounds like something an ai artist would do, yeah.

What even was the point of submitting an AI generated model? People who do their own modelling will use the feedback you give to improve their art, but the AI submitter won't. They'll just generate something else.
Even the reference sheet was AI!
I like how you showed an actual human-made model right after, and despite it looking worse at first glance, it had a sort of charm and was much easier to fix, because the original artist put a lot of thought and effort when making it! The final result was amazing!

I really like the clown girl design. I wish Kotura luck working on their model!

bro edit AI slop and ROAST em. my hero

The clown one is a bit understandable for a beginner. I would put anime character heads on the higher end of modeling difficulty.

Kotura is awesome for not using ai and trying to actually learn and make something of her own👍

6:36 "You think you know what a face looks like" this is so real, using references is almost always the easiest way to fix your art

It’s honestly surreal seeing my model in the video. The first model is actually mine—I was the one who submitted it.

I’ve been trying to create a comic book character that I can use as a reference for posing and drawing, so seeing it brought to life like that was really cool. I also love the technique where you traced over the picture and then used that as a guide. I’d never thought of doing it that way before, but it makes a lot of sense and opens up a lot of possibilities for creating reference material.

For anyone wondering, the clown girl in this video is Maf (Маф). She’s from a VK sticker pack by Kotura Miyrin.

"This looks like Alfred and Bruce"
I can't unsee it now omg 😭🖤

2:59 Voldemort...

The clown girl is taken from stickers by the same artist who created the 3D model (Kotura Miurin). This clown girl's name is Maf, and the stickers were produced for the Russian social network "VK".

love this series! I hope the person who submitted the AI model learns to appreciate the art form a bit more and grows both as a person and as a 3D artist!

8:53 for us mere mortals 💔

A tip for anyone who is learning to make anime-style characters in 3D: study Rumiko Takahashi's character designs. Contrary to what you might expect, they actually work really well in 3D! This is because they have more defined facial planes and features than other highly stylized characters. You can also learn these things from more realistic styles, but her characters still have traditional anime proportions. I do have to warn you: learning hair from her characters is jumping straight into ultra-hard-lunatic-mode++, but if you manage to succeed, you will be a certified anime-hair guru.

Bonus: the video "why does western “anime” look like THAT?" by the YouTuber "sevencraft7" should be mandatory viewing for anyone who wants to learn more about the anime style. It investigates some of the subtle features of the style that are often "lost in translation."
