I Ranked the Most ELITE Military Units (Prove Me Wrong)

David Pere

I ranked the most ELITE military special forces units in the world, based on one simple rule: capability over politics, and using only public info. Delta Force, SAS, SEALs, Shayetet 13, and MARSOC… not everyone made it to S tier.

Some of you are going to hate this list. If I snubbed your favorite, drop your ranking in the comments and prove me wrong.

If enough of you overturn me, I’ll do 25 burpees in kit in my next video. Deal?

you forgot the most devastatingly effective unit of the US Armed Forces that comes in two separate branches: The E4 MAFIA and the TERMINAL LANCES.

SAS and SBS undertake joint selection. Post selection their respective training programs are similar. Their final mission sets may be quite different but ultimately they share common characteristics and skills.

Should include the Army Catering Corp. Clinical and deadly...

One of my favorite reference books is my SAS handbook I bought when I was stationed in Germany.

You forgot the Australian SAS.
Badass jungle fighters. Elite of the elite’s elite. Definitely a S tier force.

Yeah SASR (Australia) is certainly up there. Small numbers but very professional.

Just a wee pointer, SAS is not aviation based, the unit is broken into 4 Squadrons, A,B,D and G. Each squadron has specilaist troops: Mobility, Air, Mountain and Boat. All of them highly capable of jumping out of planes and helicopters with kit.

You need to read up more on Australian SAS recon, they save so many American lives.

Quite impressed with your unbiased in this video and the fact you ranked SAS S which I think most people will agree and with delta too. I love hearing Americans talk about em. I don’t think I’ve ever heard a bad word said about them from people who have worked with them or around them etc. be interesting to see what you think of SBS basically Dev.

Missed SBS, Royal Marines, which are similar to SEALs in many ways. Also, there are the Aussie equivalents to the SAS.

And in the UK, we also have the SBS. Great video!

SBS definitely should be included, The Sayeret Matkal (based of SAS/Delta and some aspects of Russian GRU) with separate federal funding and crazy historical missions deserves a spot in top tear as well (in my humble opinion).

I enjoy watching these, I joined the Army in 96 went Airborne and RIP (Ranger Indoctrination Program) I served with 2nd Ranger Batt. 2003 I went to SFAS and Q ultimately ending up in 7th Group. Kept doing work in Iraq and Afghanistan until 2010 when I decided to take the long walk in the mountains of West Virginia and try out for the Unit. Served in B Squadron from 2011 till I retired in 2020. Spent my entire career in the SOF community and can say they are all different and they are all a blast.
