The rule says black bear, fight. Brown or grizzly, play dead. Two hunters can follow that rule to the letter, in the same species, at the same distance — and one walks away with a scraped elbow while the other spends six weeks in a hospital. Not luck. The rule was never testing the variable that actually decided the outcome.

This video runs two real cases side by side, breaks down exactly where they diverged (it's not color), and updates this channel's original framework with everything covered since — the running video, the spray video, the bear bell video — into one refined checklist. Plus an honest look at what "half" in the title actually means, and what it doesn't.

If you only watch one bear video on this channel, this is the one that ties the rest together.

This isn't theory. It's what matters when it's not a drill.
