That True Lies section is incredible.

CGI just can’t rival tangibility of stuff like that.

The real HALO jump would have had a lot more impact if they didn't add the CGI storm clouds and lightning. Adding that undercut the real stunts making it look like a green screen room effect in places. IMO making up another excuse for the other jumper to have their problem would have been better.

The HALO jump was wasted tbh because they VFX'd in a totally different sky / storm so he effectively could have just jumped from 15k ft (as an example) to achieve the first element of the shot. This was the first of many marketing ploys continued with MI7 to convince us all it's all shot 'in camera' - which effectively it is but then gets a total digital makeover. The 'crash a train for real' section in MI7 looks absolutely nothing like it did in the movie.

However - huge props either way. I'm a massive TC fan, Mission fan and THIS serious fan.

The True Lies stunt was the best. I was 20 when I watched that at the cinema. It's still incredible today.

I really love these 'How did they pull it off ' series

When they filmed at 7 mile bridge, I was in the crowd.  I lived on Big pine key at the time.  One end of 7 mile, the other was Marathon...

15:00 you also have to appreciate how there was apparently someone who actually knows how to ride present when creating the choreography, a bike has quite strong engine braking when you let go of the throttle so they always have to have one hand on the throttle which they actually do have in the scene.

The stunt pilots from the 70's through the 90's were a lot of chopper pilots in Vietnam. Those dudes had no fear!

2:45 It's weird to think that the greatest contribution of the Vietnam War to culture might be the ~15 years of absolutely amazing helicopter stuntwork we got onscreen afterwards, once all the hotshot chopper pilots went home and got snatched up by Hollywood.

If i remember correctly, Jamie Lee Curtis did the Helicopter Stunt on her Birthday an described it as the most exciting thing she ever did.

Film Riot: please never end this Series..!

I really liked this one ❤
I appreciate the less swearing

I hate that it's now "common knowledge" Christopher Nolan doesn't use CGI is his movies while he himself said he couldn't do his movies without CGI.

All the skydive stunts in MI:6 with the actual helmets we're tested in Denmark at Dropzone Denmark skydiving centre before Tom Cruise did his windtunnel training and actual jumps. 😎

I just discovered this channel. Surely you have paid honors to F/X – an old fave of mine!

Hi there I've been a fan since 2015 and its baffling to me that you still haven't had the chance to make a feature film yet. With the recent success of youtubers that made some of the most successful movies of this year are we closer to seeing your feature debut in next couple of years?

Don't know who Jerry is, but the helicopter pilot's name for the True Lies bridge scene was Chuck Tamburro. He flew the chopper under the bridge in T2 and got caught in a thermodraft in First Blood.

Today's CGI, and other latest special effects are fade in front of those golden era camera trick Stunts and intelligent mind behind such cinematic marvels !

True lies still stands up decades later for action and great stunts

They talking about tom cruise jumping from the plane but that dude with the camera falling backwards is the one I’m impressed with

The true lies bridge is awesome. Always loved how the truck hangs in the air for what seems like an eternity. Great stuff.

I love this series. Good work as always.
