Starting an accidental house fire in The Sims 3 is never profitable, even with insurance paying you for damage to your belongings. So what if you don't burn YOUR belongings?

I forced my way into other people's houses so that I could claim on their insurance and see if it was a viable way to get rich quick in The Sims 3.

If you still want to play the old Sims games, buy physical copies from resellers (you can often find The Sims base game and expansions on eBay for a very low price). If you don't have a disc drive, you can also buy cheap USB drives to install the games.
