Can a runaway teen survive alone in The Sims 3?

I'm reliving my not so rebellious youth in The Sims 3 by creating a runaway teen. I used to do this all the time when I was younger and I know a lot of other people used to do this too!

Watch me try to keep a teen sim alive in The Sims 3 by begging, borrowing and stealing from all of my neighbours.

You should try and play as a homeless vampire in the sims 3. You can steal blood from the hospital and have to hide in buildings during the day

7:50 I cannot stop laughing at Jack walking right into the completely empty bathroom that you just stole everything from just to make a silly face at you 😭

The legend of Runner Waye, otherwise known as the "bathroom bandit" began as a runaway teen with the goal to become a straight A student and a master thief when he grew up.

This challenge reminds me of a book I read as a teen called “My side of the Mountain” -

In the book a teenage boy runs from home to live off the grid in the wilderness. He ends up befriending and training a falcon. His biggest struggle is to create a home warm enough so that he can survive the winter.

The reason you, and many others, are drawn to making runaway teen sims, is likely because you had a normal life as a teen. People are intrigued by what they find as unusual or strange, and the Sims provides a safe sandbox to explore that interest.
Young children do the same with dolls, so it makes sense that a "virtual dollhouse" would provide for the same catharsis.

99.9% sure you have to “watch” the bird a few times before being able to capture it!

I love how you can place your own lots anywhere in The Sims 3, makes so much sense to hide out in the woods off-road when you don't have any place to go as a runaway teen. I found it so hilarious how comfortable and at-home Runner makes himself at whoever's house he's "visiting".

You don’t need the sleeping bag that urgently. You can choose to relax anywhere and when the sim lies on the towel, you can choose nap. Also you can do this on your home lot and don’t have the curfew problem anymore

I had a turbulent home life (ran away at 14, ended up living with my grandparents at the end)
But I didn’t do the runaway challenge, instead I made my teen have a loving home and made them achieve as much as possible
Basically playing the perfect family

Interesting that you and a lot that did the challange had a healthy home life

Ummm, apparently I was very invested in this challenge because my heart skipped a beat at the ghost music, I too immediately thought; "oh no, burglar!"
