In this video I secretly by a non-running micro car from the 1960s. My wife has a big birthday coming up so this is her big present. Does it actually run though? We will discover the rear engined and quirky little car known as the Autobianchi. Is it really a practical estate car or a Fiat 500 in a frilly dress? Quite a rare car these days!

That PG in yellow written on black is part of the old Italian plate: PG stands for Perugia (Umbria); old italian plates had two letters (the "provincia" where the car was registered) and then numbers. A famous example was an Alfa Giulia registered in Milan, that had the plate MI A00000, in fact if you search the picture of such car there is a cat on the boot

What a beautiful car, the Italians know a thing or two about style.

Thank you ALEX 👍👌

What a fantastic gorgeous little thing 😍

Seen these in alot of ITALIAN period dramas & shows & serials....🇮🇹

They look so easy to work on 🙏

What a superb birthday present for your wife 🥰😍🤩🥳🎂🎁

Lots of small jobs for you to do before it's more safe for her to drive 🙏

Look forward to all the fantastic tutorials you always do when you get around to fixing all the bits on it 👍👌🙏

I changed my comment. Make sure that little car is safe for your wife. I hope she truly enjoys it. That's something you want to hold on to. Happy birthday Mrs car lady. 🎉

Very stylish rendition of the Fiat 500 Giardiniera. It's got wood trim! My late brother bought a Fiat 500 new in 1969 and I learned to drive in it, when not learning to drive in my father's Fiat 850 saloon. The 500 was a wonderful little car and we loved buzzing around in warm weather with the sunroof open. I'm sure Mrs Roadtrip will love it once she is accustomed to the controls and the non-synchro gearbox. I can't believe you found one. 😊👍

Those Fiat 500 engines are "fun". You're juggling the choke and throttle to get the idle happy enough to warm the engine, then they are utter work horses. Lovely car.

What an absolutely gorgeous little car!

Its a Beautiful thing to see your wife so happy with the new car .
She blew the horn and jumped and giggled . That was priceless.
I wished we had micro cars in Tennessee.

I love this! My Grandma brought me a scale model, ( Dinky / Corgi size ) back from her holiday in Italy in 1970. I can be certain of the year because it was around the time of the World Cup in Mexico. From what I read in subsequent years the toy was probably stronger than the real thing!

What a beautiful piece, it's in good shape!
In italy that car is famous for being the car owned by a movie character, check for Ragionier Ugo Fantozzi.
As said by others, that plastic sheet with the PG mark is the province part of the registration plate for the Perugia province!
Cheers from Italy!

I seem to remember there was a van version of these in the uk but not an estate. What a nice little car. As always enjoyable, thanks.

Getting into the house unnoticed sounded a very "Baldrick" cunning plan 😂

That black plastic with the orange "PR" lettering was the initial part of an old Italian license plate for the city of PERUGIA.
Congratulations on your purchase; it's a beautiful little car.
