Anime is so subjective that I think it should be studied.

[[ Naruto spoilers ]]  Hey Gabe, here is a counter argument to help you in your Naruto defense

Counter argument to: "Naruto story is a mess" (or) "Because Naruto ended somewhat badly, the entire story is not great" (or) "The show has many plot holes "

People forgot that the general Naruto story only became a mess during the war arc, Almost all the "perceived" negative points of the story people love to mention are contained within that one arc.
(the crazy power scaling, Black Zetsu betrayal retcon, Kaguya, "talk no jutsu" with Obito which became a meme – it made sense to me with Nagato, but not with Obito – some tedious Edo Tensei and white Zetsu, Orochimaru becoming kind of good, and so on).

Prior to it, there are about (20) canon arcs in OG and Shippuden. Almost all of these arcs are amazing and have very well-written stories, with very few exceptions. Even the war arc had many great cool moments and stories, so one 'bad' arc should not ruin the previous 20. - Madara & Hashirama backstory - eps (366*, 367*, 368*, 369*, 370)
- Kakashi vs Obito - eps (371, 372, 375*)
- Madara returns to life - eps (391, 392*, 393*)
- Guy backstory and the Eight Gates vs Madara - eps (418 to 421) *
- Almost anything else involving Madara *
