Anime dad's are either the best fathers to ever exist, the literal devil, or they're just gone

Fun Fact, even the creator of Fullmetal Alchemist hated Shou Tucker. At the end of each manga whenever a character dies she drew them going to heaven. However Shou Tucker is the ONLY one she drew burning in HELL!!!

2 vids in a month?

I completely understand why Shou Tucker is considered the worst anime father. What he did to Nina and Alexander is unforgivable. Seeing Scar kill him felt like absolute justice. ⚖️

Shou Tucker is so bad that most haven't even seen Fullmetal Alchemist and still know who he is

Reminder that Leorio punching Ging almost made him the chairman of the whole Hunter Association. They really wanted Ging out of there asap.

People don't seem to realize that Ozai enabling Azula's bad behavior is a form of neglect. He didn't teach her how to be a normal well adjusted person in any regard and specifically molded her into a perfect weapon to use in him war. All the while using Zuko as an example of what would happen if she ever disappointed him or showed empathy. He is bottom 5 EASILY.

Fun fact: Endeavor’s English voice actor, Patrick Seitz, also voices Isshin Kurosaki from Bleach, who is considered one of the best anime fathers

7:45 Someone else is going to point it out if I don't, it's worse than that. The boiling water wasn't what scarred Shoto, what messed up his face was that she tried to use her ice quirk to heal it, and basically applied freezing cold temperatures directly onto a flaming hot wound on the side of Todoroki's face that would be immune to heat anyway. His body couldn't handle the rapid cooling and that's what scarred him. So really his mom hurt him due to trauma, panicked, tried to fix it, and just made it way worse.

"She was born lucky, you were lucky to be born" is one of the most vile lines I've ever heard.

Ging being a notorious deadbeat in-universe is actually so funny. In an organization with a ton of psychopathic members, he's the guy where everyone goes "he's an asshole for that" 😂😂😂

There's a disturbing amount of father's in shonen amount obsessed with playing eugenics with their own children.

Hunter X Hunter is the story of a boy whose father left him to go get cigarettes and never came back, and his journey, not to go beat his dad's ass, but to go find out what's so amazing about cigarettes.

The way I was stunned seeing Endeavor running fades on literal toddlers because they're not built like Prime Might out the womb was actually insane. Man was moving like Uncle Ruckus' dad, beating them for anything 💀

Every single father in this video embodies the phrase "children deserve parents, but not ever parent deserves a child"

The extra painful fact about Rei hurting Shoto is that Shoto, as a literal child at the time of getting burned, knew Endeavor was the reason for her attacking him and never once blamed her for it. You know you must really suck for the child to turn around and still point to you as the culprit.

Gon wasn't crying because he was so happy to see his dad, he was crying to tell him that it was his fault that his Ging's pupal just died.

17:22 Not to mention as sick as Orochimaru is, at least he was a better parent to his son than Rasa was to his. Like how is a serpentine psychopath that experiments on kids somehow better at child-rearing than you?

@SpammytheHedgehog 2 months ago

Endeavor never had a Redemption Arc. He had an Atonement Arc.

It's a narrative mechanic;

Dead or absent parents aren't uniquely anime, they're a near-universal storytelling shortcut for forcing independence.

A missing or hostile parent is one of the fastest ways to create a "narrative vacuum" that forces autonomy. If a protagonist has a stable, loving, competent parent around, that adult tends to solve problems, offer guidance, or otherwise absorb the dramatic weight the story wants the protagonist to carry. Writers often remove the parent (through death, absence, or dysfunction) so the young hero has to make their own choices, find their own mentors, and build their own found family.
