If women ruled the world, would there be fewer wars? We've lived in such a male-dominated world for millennia that it's hard to even imagine one run by women. Even so, many leading figures in politics, business, and science have argued that a female-led world would be far more peaceful. Former US President Barack Obama, for instance, once said that if we had more women in leadership, we'd see significantly less conflict. Renowned evolutionary psychologist Steven Pinker echoed this, calling war, in the traditional sense, "a man's game." Similarly, former Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg pointed out that no two countries led by women have ever gone to war with each other. As you might guess, this is a highly speculative claim built on the stereotype that women are inherently more peaceful and "maternal." But is there any truth to it?
